This wonderful property offers you much more than what you could expect. The huge forest with many birds and wildlife, the wide wineyards to walk around, the nice swimming pool to relax and the neighborhood of the touristic places as Siena, San Gimignano etc. The Manager and the staff are wonderful persons who did all to make stay perfect.

We stayed at Castel Pietraio for only one night. The grounds, the buildings, the room were all beautiful! It was a lovely place to stay. The pool area was great, and the breakfast delicious. It did seem like Castel Pietraio isn't sure whether it is a B&B or a high end hotel. It is also suffering from a lack of... More

This hotel was excellent with spacious rooms and a very good buffet breakfast. Ancient buildings with modern rooms. The Castel Pietraio is about 1 hour from Florence and is very well located in Tuscany. The air conditioner in the rooms was very good. Gabriella, the Manager cannot do enough for the guests.

We stayed here as a group for a birthday and not only did the venue blow us away but with the assistance of Gabriella and her team, we had an amazing visit. A must stay in the Chianti hills within easy access of all the surrounding medieval towns.

After reading the reviews we booked a junior suite for two nights. We were warmly greeted when we checked in and given a tour of the grounds. There is no traffic noise and the birds were singing their hearts out. We were given ideas for restaurants and touring. This is a wonderful place to relax. The suite was large and... More

Place was very beautiful and cozy, lady at the reception was very kind and outgoing (gave us some advice where to go and where to eat etc.) also their local wine was very delicious (bought two bottles on our way back home). And it was really close to Monteriggioni.

This was one of the first Eco touristic spots back in the very early 90s and now it's even better than ever, just stunningly marvelous and gorgeous with the panoramic views it offers. The rooms are well equipped but also maintain their feel of the early Tuscan architecture. Between the ambiance, pool, food, and the luscious home made wines, this... More

We stayed one night in this lovely castle and would have loved to stay much longer. One of our best stays in Italy. The buildings themselves are extensive and beautifully redone; the setting is peaceful and picture perfect. Our room, in the building next to the castle itself, was large, very clean, and well appointed, with a large bathroom. The... More

Our suite was huge with lovely decor, very comfortable queen bed and incredible view. The ensuite, also large had a jacuzzi. Breakfast which was served in a... More

Is it a castle? Yes it is! And it is beautiful. The hotel/winery is tucked away in gorgeous countryside and is well worth the stop. The room was large enough with a comfortable bed and very clean bathroom. The manager Gabriela is very very helpful, a little quirky but also great fun, make sure you ask about the wine it... More

It is true, it is a medieval castle, but instead of knights and ladies now there are tourists who can stay just as they did the pilgrims of old, but it is a constant commitment to find comfort in their many most. I'm glad it was satisfied even by a tasting of the wines we produce in our cellars exclusively... More
