Spent 4 nights last week in this lovely hotel. Had a room that led out to the pool which was great. The room was very Italian and rustic which was a nice change from the modern hotels. Great air conditioning which is a must have in the Tuscan summer. Absolutely loved the restaurant, beautiful setting overlooking the pool. The food... More

Just about to spend my last night in this beautiful hotel. I was with a tour group who had spend 3 nights previously in Florence & boy were we ready to relax . The hotel is set in the countryside about 11 kms outside Siena but the town of Monteriggioni is about half an hour's walk from the hotel. There... More

Part of an organised Italian tour our 4 day stay at this hotel was a highlight of our trip. A real retreat in the countryside located about a mile from Monteriggioni with superb comfortable rooms many like ours opening onto the grounds around a large and welcoming pool. A bungalow style hotel with all rooms on the ground floor making... More

Not a bad hotel, but not 4*, good base to explore from, no spa in summer months which is not mentioned on web site. Resturant over price, BBQ grill best value, massive hike on drinks. Air conditioning broke in the room they did attempt to fix it, but failed, I had to re complain before we got moved to another... More

I stayed here with a friend, and we had a fantastic time. The food in the restaurant is excellent (try to olive oil they serve with some bread), and so is it's service. The personnel was so kind to open a bottle of wine which we brought and start a nice chat. The hotel room was very proper and the... More

We have enjoyed our stay at this typical Tuscan mini resort so much, I recommend it to everyone who's come back for a taste of Tuscany or is visiting the region for the 1st time. Within driving distance of Siena, Firenze, San Gimignano, they have a cozy restaurant up in Castello Monteriggioni as well. The fashion outlets are within reach... More

After staying in Florence this seemed to be in the middle of the Tuscan countryside about 15-20 minutes walk along a road and up a very steep hill to the marvellous walled town of Monteriggioni. This was a very good base for Volterra, San Gimignano and Siena. In fact, whilst in the town, a half marathon came through to great... More

A great small hotel near Monteriggioni, Despite being sited near a main road the hotel was quiet and we could hardly hear any traffic. The staff were friendly and helpful and our room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. We ate in the hotel twice and found the food very good, but a bit pricey. Breakfast was typical Tuscan fare with... More

We spent 4 nights at this hotel (Motel?) in August. We were told it was out in the Tuscan countryside, which, to some extent it was - if you ignore the Autostrada traffic behind the hotel and the busy main road in front of it! I read with some incredulity another report that states the hotel is "right outside" Castel... More

Where to start what a disaster. We arrived at what should be a four star hotel but is only a three star. The receptionist with the short dark hair was less than welcoming and her first words to us were "We have a problem. There was no reservation for us. We had booked through our travel agent for seven nights... More
