We arrived at the hotel for a 7 night stay after 3 nights in Venice & 4 in Florence (both 5 star hotels - fantastic). It is unfair to compare their quality with Il Piccolo. The first night we decided to eat in the restaurant, what a big disappointment - the menu was very limited and we found that it... more

Pretty setting and accommodating staff BUT overpriced and not-very-good food. We asked for a fresh fruit plate (which was not on the menu) and they were happy to accommodate us, but the rest of the items we ordered, primarily from the appetizer menu as it was mid-afternoon, were not very good and extremely overpriced. Pates tasted old, fresh tomatoes were... more

We came across this place by accident, and having gone into the walled village of Monteriggioni and asked the price of a room there which we found too high, we were delighted to drive less than a mile and come across the gem that is Il Piccolo with a more reasonably priced room. The whole hotel has a wonderful ambience,... more

We stopped at this hotel by chance while touring near sienna. It is fairly new, single storey built in Tuscan style but with every modern amenity. The rooms are built around the pool so open directly onto the terrace. Other rooms open to the gardens. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast excellent. Unfortunately we could not sample the restaurant... more

This hotel was included in our Tauk tour and what a great choice. The location is rural but the hotel is new (about 5 years). Big room (ours had a loft with a second bed and couch) with king size bed. Nice sized bathroom and wardrobe. Loved the fluffy bathrobes and slippers. If you stay be sure to ask about... more

The four of us (2 adults and 2 children) stayed in one of the mezzanine rooms which was large enough and of very good quality. We chose half board lodging and did day trips into the Chianti region/Firenze/Volterra/Siena etc.. The logistical position of the hotel is superb. Breakfast was good. Evening meals of very good and consistent quality. Served outside,... more

We slightly regretted choosing this hotel as part of our holiday for the following reasons: - the hotel is in a sort-of spread-out light industrial zone, on a main road, backing onto the Florence-Siena dual carriageway and next to a Mitsubishi dealership. The motorway was audible from the pool. - the clientele when we were there was mainly coach parties.... more

I booked this room because it was relatively close to Siena, and the hotel appeared to be new and quite luxurious for the price quoted. Generally, I was pleased with the choice, but there were some areas that could be improved. To get to the hotel, you drive north from Siena about nine kilometers to Monteriggioni. I first pulled into... more

Beautiful new hotel centrally located in stunning Chianti region. Close to all major towns, Firenze only an hour away. Delightful service from all staff, pleasant communal areas and attention paid to details. Jacuzzi pool was a real treat and not too busy. Well appointed bedrooms on 2 levels with upstairs area ideal for escapism, relaxation & reading. Pool facing rooms... more
