I travel with 5 women who like comfort, value, uniqueness, hospitality, beauty, etc. etc. This hotel met all of our criteria. It is in a fabulous location, it has wonderful countryside towns and villages around it, there are fabulous places to eat nearby and it is in a WALLED CITY!!!! We absolutely love it here. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast... More

We stayed at this hotel while on a walking tour in Tuscany. The only disappointment was that the internet was down (we were told it had been out for a week). The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was good, the location was excellent. The staff tried to be accommodating, but they were obviously struggling with no phone or internet service.

We paid 230 euros per night for this hotel. At half this price it would have been good. It is definitely not a 4-star hotel, compared to other 4-star hotels in Tuscany. Our superior room was very small, the windows would not open completely as the bed was in the way. Though it did have a splendid view. Breakfast buffet... More

We recently stayed at Hotel Monteriggioni and it was everything I hoped it to be - Monteriggioni is such a special place and the hotel felt very tranquil. I searched the internet quite a lot before going because we were travelling by public transport and I was quite concerned about getting there, but in the end we just got the... More

Surrounded by stones that witnessed medieval times you can find a very special gem in the monteriggioni's commune...hotel monteriggioni hotel. We stayed in the hotel's apartment Maison; really nice and well kept. Spacious enough for a family with 2kids and really clean. In a rather touristic town the inside of the hotel and garden (plus a small pool) is really... More

Spent three nights here. Hotel right in centre of this small hilltop village. They do not have a restaurant but there are plenty within walking distance, Room and bathroom were clean and functional, ours was overlooking the garden. Small pool but adequete. Did the local tour with English speaking guide which was excellent. Also fantastic opera in church in square,... More

This is a very special hotel situated in the walled village of Monteriggioni. It is a haven of tranquility, somewhere to relax and unwind. We enjoyed it so much last year we visited again this summer. The owners make you feel like part of the family and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are cool, comfortable and spotlessly clean.... More

We were fortunate to enjoy the most delightful visit to the Hotel Monteriggioni on our recent visit to Umbria and Tuscany in June. We had briefly visited Monteriggioni the previous year whilst on a wine tour. We spied the Hotel and thought that it would be an idyllic option for a stay at some point. We were not disappointed! This family-run hotel is built into the medieval wall of the tiny town, with a pleasant outdoor area. Each room is different, but ours was small (and bath even smaller) though comfortable. Our windows overlooked the garden of an adjoining restaurant, which did make the evening rather noisy. An ample buffet breakfast was included in the room rate.

Very nice small size hotel located between Siena and Firenze. Surrounded by medieval wall and towers, it offers the essence of traditional Tuscany. A nice please to get lost from the world and get a good book and enjoying reading with the view of the Tuscan hills. Nice restaurants nearby. the place is so quite at this time of the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The building, which is in the heart of this charming medieval fortress, dates back to the 17th century and is now home to the superior 4 star Hotel Monteriggioni. The original architectural style has been preserved during the restoration, creating, together with the tasteful furnishings, a luxurious setting where guests can enjoy a private yet elegant atmosphere. Twelve luxury bedrooms – each with its own particular character – and “La Maison”, a most charming apartment, look out over the boundary walls made famous by Dante in his Divine Comedy. The centuries-old olive trees and the stone swimming pool in the garden offer our guests quiet areas for reading, enjoying a long breakfast or simply relaxing. The owners, Michela Gozzi and Luigi Cagnazzo, are always ready to answer any questions about the major Tuscan art cities and the ancient villages of the area. They can give useful advice about local events, city or airport transfers, guided tours and local excursions. ... more   less
