The location in the centre of town is great - if difficult to find without satnav. It's better if you haven't got a car as you have to be organised to get it brought to you from a distant location. It's lovely to see all the families out in the square - until you want to sleep! The noise level... More

We were met by a very pleasant young woman who checked us in...even though we had issues with the parking she resolved them with consumate professionalism. However, this stay was destroyed by the rabble in the square who spent all night...until 0430...just making a noise, swearing and generally keeping everyone awake with their inane nonsense! I understand the Hotel has... More

Parking is some distance from the hotel which is a pain even though a valet is used, [€18 extra] Room was OK clean and functional, good bathroom, plenty of hot water. Heating contols were not very clever The restaurant was OK, "menu of the day" was fine with a half decent bottle of wine thrown in. Breakfast was rubbish, not... More

My husband really liked this hotel; I didn't. And it is quite difficult to work out why. The room was lovely, the staff helpful and the price reasonable. When you go through the front door you enter a large atrium and there were quite a lot of people in it, with resonating noise which made is sound like an indoor... More

It did not help that we were given a large smoking room with dual aspect windows at the rear of the hotel (despite specifying NS on reservation) and then moved to a small internal room with a window into the room from a seating area in a corridor. At least the smell was better. The beds were uncomfortable, and they... More

As with a lot of European towns, the hotels with the best (most convenient) location are a bit difficult to find and this one is no exception. Nonetheless you eventually find your way there. The hotel is old but in reasonably good repair and has a nice charm about it. Our room was large, at the back of the hotel,... More

In a great location. Staff very friendly. Room is good but one or two things need repair and decor needs updating. Valet parking is a bonus. Breakfast is ok. Had an enjoyable stay. Did not eat dinner so cannot comment on this.

This hotel is set in an historic building, with a breath taking interior. Right in the middle of town, it is ideally sited for visitors to the city. Accommodation is very good, but be aware that the beds are extremely hard!! Overall excellent value for money, but I would rate it 4 star as a posed to 5 star. Debbie... More

I have stayed at this hotel in May. This beautiful palace transformed in a lovely hotel, right on the main square. The location is perfect; the rooms are very comfortable and spotless. The staffs at the front desk were helpful with information given. A place I recommend.

Only one person on reception - we had to ask about time of breakfast and location. The next door church bells chime every 15 mins night and day. The noise+blasting music from passing cars directly outside + families with screaming kids + skatboarders directly infront of the hotel goes on until 2.00am weekdays and if you are at the front...
