This was a return visit and once again we felt that there was something missing. The staff are generally not very friendly and the rooms are tired . Breakfast was a real disaster with poor top up to the buffet and unhelpful staff although to be fair it was immediately after Christmas and they were full. Merida itself is well... More

This is an interesting tourist hotel with a number of obvious pluses. It's a charming old building, if a little shabby chic. Our room had comfortable beds and a good bathroom. The breakfast were more than acceptable. The location is excellent, certainly within walking distance of almost all the major attractions in Merida. The price is astonishing: 78 Euros per... More

The hotel is situated in the city centre and surrounded by restaurants. The main attractions are a mere 5 mins walk away, i stayed in room 145 for 1 night. The rooms are dated and in need of a facelift. The hotel in general is good and has that special charisma that only an old building can have.

We stayed here just one night and I wished we were staying longer, This hotel was once an old convent. and the building which dates from the 1720's reflects that, There are low ceilings some timbered, some vaulted, twisting corridors revealing comfortable lounge spaces. Old furniture adds to the charm, The rooms are spacious with excellent bathroom facilities, The staff... More

We visit Merida for Teatro Romano and Anfiteatro Romano de Merida. Parador de Merida was a very beautiful and (inside) well-decorated hotel. For guests and friends, there were plenty of seating areas along its aisles, and “tunnels”. Room and bed were nice and comfortable. Reception area was small though. Service? Average. Breakfast? Choices were limited. Dining room was small. The... More

Love Merida very much. The Roman remains are utterly terrific and you must go. The parador is ideally placed for the visit but it's a tired place in desperate need of a major overhaul. Everywhere needs at the very least a new coat of paint but actually it doesn't meet modern standards, especially at the price they charge. Our bed... More

Absolutely loved this hotel Setting, staff, rooms, beds food and parking. The restaurant was out of this world and I felt on top of the world. The town and sites are amazing. A historical building with lots of charm. As for previous negative reviews, I don't know what was expected, but it met all our expectations. This is a thousands year old monastery-turned-hotel with a few chinks but overall clean with lots of rich antiques. The room was spacious and looked out onto a lovely courtyard. The grounds were beautiful. We did... More
