This hotel has the best service I never experienced in Melia Hotels. The staff in the reception, as well as the waiters in the restaurant or the cleaning ladies for room service...they are so motivated, gentle, efficient and kind! As for the room and breakfast, everything went perfectly well, as usual. The only 'cu-ac' is this new, very recent decoration... More

The room and bathroom were very large compared to most places we've stayed in Spain. We enjoyed the ability to open the door to the "balcony" so we could have cool, fresh air. We couldn't figure out how to change the room temperature and it was too warm. The price was excellent for the quality of the hotel. A downside... More

This hotel is Roman themed and shaped like an amphitheatre. The room was spacious and bright with many Roman style features, maybe a bit OTT. Comfortable with good sleep. Excellent breakfast. We could not understand why one row of parking spaces had been blocked by potted plants. This only left about 6 spaces, otherwise there was paid underground parking or... More

This was the 1st of 11 hotels we stayed in during our driving holiday in Spain & Portugal. The hotel is situated outside of the town and unfortunately when we were there the adjacent commercial area was virtually all closed, which left very limited local restaurant options for meals. (Apart from the hotel). It's a good 20 minute walk to... More

We just came back from a 3 night stay at the Tryp Medea, and really enjoyed the experience. Firstly, Merida is a super town with amazing historical sites/sights, especially the theatre, circo romano, amphitheatre, aqueducts and temples, and also the Alcazaba which has an amazing cistern with Visigothic column inscriptions. Also the Roman art museum is wonderful. The town itself... More

This place is of decent quality but suffers from being some distance from the town. Its handy for the huge supermarket that the hotel looks down on. Inside the place is good andvrooms (particularly superior rooms) are of a high quality. The walk into town takes 20 minutes and crosses the old roman bridge which is a great way to... More

I liked it and so did my family. Clean with excellent service and friendly staff - especially the breakfast staff and the maids. A couple of times, the front desk staff appeared irritable at being interrupted when they were seated at the computer but overall they, too, were good. They should work on their affect a bit. Location was good... More

We stayed overnight en route to Madrid. The hotel decor is ugly as previously described by other reviewers but so what? Accommodation was clean and comfortable with great swimming pool although not enough sun loungers or shade to go around the numerous people by the pool. The staff were excellent. Really helpful unlike Tryp Valle Romano Estepona. The walk into... More

The Merida Medea is quite possibly the ugliest Tryp hotel I have stayed in, but even so, we very much enjoyed our stay. The staff were very good, the room was average, but clean and cool. The decor is pretty much exclusively 'tacky corporate Spanish'. If you've been around, you'll know the type, but for all that, it's a pretty... More
