We stayed overnight en route to Madrid. The hotel decor is ugly as previously described by other reviewers but so what? Accommodation was clean and comfortable with great swimming pool although not enough sun loungers or shade to go around the numerous people by the pool. The staff were excellent. Really helpful unlike Tryp Valle Romano Estepona. The walk into... More

The Merida Medea is quite possibly the ugliest Tryp hotel I have stayed in, but even so, we very much enjoyed our stay. The staff were very good, the room was average, but clean and cool. The decor is pretty much exclusively 'tacky corporate Spanish'. If you've been around, you'll know the type, but for all that, it's a pretty... More

Just back from a short one night stay in Merida, and this hotel is simply fantastic, we travel a lot, and booked through a price comparison website getting an excellent price for one night including breakfast, and we were not disappointed, the Hotel is a modern hotel, in a crescent shape, very tastefully decorated, and with huge rooms! well worth... terrific location and very friendly staff, breakfast is delicious, very convenient next to a shopping center, the city of merida is a nice city to visit, go see the roman theatre and ruins, the 10 euro promotion offered was great, used it at the bar

This place has definitely seen better days. The price would have been very good if it were truly a four star hotel, but that time has long passed. I am surprised that the head office has not done something to correct the situation. Either renovate it or sell it off to a discount chain. The pool, for instance, is a... More

Rooms need repainting, bathrooms a refurb. The evening restaurant is a sad little affair stuck in a corner of the bar. Breakfast is served in the restaurant proper, a much better venue. Handy for the motorway but I imagine not so good for the town.

We stayed here on the 1st /2nd October 2012 and were in Room 326. We have used the Tryp Hotels in varying parts of Spain before and this one did not dissapoint. Booking into the Hotel was not an easy option on this occasion. This was brought about by them introducing a new booking in system. Thats all well and... More

Not well located, too far from city center. Near from comercial center (supermarket...) Charged 10 euros for parking / night is too expensive. A very small parking outside hotel is free. The room is large but don´t have minibar, A "vending machine" in the hall of the floor isn´t a good solution. WiFi is free. The service is too simple... More

Stayed 1 night on a trip round Spain. The hotel is ok, nothing special but was cheap so can't complain too much. The hotel is next to Carrefour, Mc Donald's and a small shopping centre with a cinema and some restaurants. It took us about 25 mins to walk to the Plaza de España over the beautiful Roman bridge.
