It’s hard to imagine a much better location to stay in Cáceres. The hotel opens onto the small but lovely Plaza de San Juan where you’ll also find the excellent restaurant El Figón. From here, it’s only a short walk to the Plaza Mayor and the entrance to the old city. The hotel, however, has a well-used air about it.... more

NH Palacio de Oquendo has the public spaces of a 4 star hotel, but the rooms are relatively small and missing important items like extra pillows and safes. Hangers are the types that make it clear the hotel management doesn’t trust you with them. Room décor is garish, but sort of OK. Bathroom had a strange smell. Parking is non-existent... more

I chose this hotel because the parador got bad reviews. The Melia has a dated, chain hotel feel to the rooms. The public areas are much better. The staff is terrific. The front desk man helped us get a parking space in front of the hotel, which was a real value in the crowded Plaza de San Juan. We also... more

Check in was smooth and there was a bell boy to help with our luggage. There was a wedding party at the hotel which meant that the hotel was full, but the receptionist told us that we could change rooms the next morning for a bigger one with better views, The first room was fine, at the top of the... more

The hotel is in an attractive building and in a great location on a small garden square very near to Plaza Mayor. However, the hotel itself is really very dated - the rooms are pretty ugly, particularly for a 'boutique hotel' (I think the term has lost its meaning in translation). Our room was directly opposite the room used by... more

Complete garbage. Was shunted off to this hotel after the Caceres Parador "lost" my reservation; found the hotel full of package tourists, stinking of cigarette smoke, bland, ugly, and characterless. Could have been any motel in America except for the 170 euro room price. In the morning I left my jacket in the breakfast room, only to discover when I... more

This is a well run hotel situated on a pleasant square just outside of the walls of the old city. Although the rooms and lobby are well appointed and efficient it tends towards the functional rather than spectacular. The location is outstanding with excellent bars and restaurants surrounding the quiet and shady square and just a short walk to the... more

Had a truly fantastic time at this hotel. Rooms were of a high standard with a pillow menu. Staff could not have been more pleasant. The square just down from the hotel is a lovely place to wind away the hours with some tapas and a cool beer. I can't wait to return. more
