Stayed for one night, booked what I thought would be Bed and Breakfast in a village pub. However, on arrival we found out the breakfast consisted of apple juice, yoghurt and cereal in the room, which we didn't attempt, prefering to find the nearest establishment serving a cooked breakfast. Our evening meal was not good, undercooked fish and overcooked vegetable... More

Tasty pub food in a pleasant atmosphere served by great staff. It was a nice suprise to find such delicious food in a pub. The ale pie was delicious as was the sticky toffee pudding. Lovely landlord and landlady.

We walked here from Selbourne along Hanger's Way and had an excellent Sunday lunch in the pretty garden. Both the roast chicken and pork were v tasty. Very generous portions, we had no hope of trying their puddings. Will definitely return.

The staff were welcoming g immediately on arrival and sorted drinks and menus very quickly. The pub is child friendly with toys which was great for our child but also not so child specific you're in a soft play - they've got the balance of family and no family spot on. Although it's not really on a main route I... More

We visited this pub twice while on holiday. The first was for Sunday lunch, we sat it the lovely garden. The kids were free to play with the toys. The pub has a box load of toys and games. The service was quick and we found the staff very friendly. The roast dinner was great, good size portions and very... More

At the end of a long cycle it's great when someone pops their head out of the kitchen to help us find somewhere to park our bikes. This is a pub where the staff (or are they owners?) all want to please. The garden is beautiful and although it may not be everyone's choice to have a blacksmith hammering away... More

Three of us went out for a girly meal out Monday week ago. Two of us had the Chicken Korma and even though the portions were large, we finished everything on the plate. We agreed that it really was the best indian we've had as long we can remember. Yes, even better than from a Carry House! Having complimented the... More

Went here with my family for Sunday lunch, the food was excellent. One of the nicest roast dinners I've had in a long time (and absolutely huge!) had a yummy creme brûlée for dessert too. Such a nice cosy pub with a warm friendly atmosphere. Liked it so much we've booked to go back for Mother's Day.
