I've lived near this pub my whole life, and after visiting for the first time the other day, I couldn't believe how much drinking and eating I'd missed out on by dismissing it all this time. The food was incredible and the service was outstanding - everyone made you feel like family (and definitely have the seabass if it's still... More

Relaxing atmosphere for an outstanding meal. Took mother there for her tea as visiting from Grantham and we loved it. Sat in the garden enjoying a glass of wine and blankets available as it was slightly chilly in the shade, what a brilliant idea. Will definitely visit again and try the steak and ale pie next time. Cannot fault the... More

We stayed two nights. John & Gill were great hosts and very helpful and friendly. The locals in the bar were very welcoming and keen to chat. Good selection of Fullers beers on tap. There were loads of people eating. We had the steak & ale pie which was outstanding. Would recommend they put some blackout curtains in the room... More

On our way to Isle of Wight so needed a stopover before catching ferry. Found this in Britstops and having read the reviews and looked at the website decided it was the best place for us. It was even better! Lovely welcome and facilities explained by John who also advised us on dog walks. We had booked a table as we... More

I stayed there for one night with my colleague. We had a very pleasant evening being looked after the lovely girl behind the bar and the land lord who was ever so attentive. I can't comment on the food as we were busy talking with the beer and cider, and missed the last order time! So we were suggested to... More

stopped in here for some lunch -what a fab place. Staff are very friendly and the food was extremely good and a good selection on offer. In the summer the garden out the back would be lovely to sit in .

After a long hard day cycling our spirits were lifted when we walked into the bar to be met by John and Gill. Our bikes were locked away by John and then Gill poured us a fantastic pint of lager . At 9.30 pm on a Monday evening we did not expect to be served food but Gill explained it... More

I am a regular Sunday visitor to this lovely pub, the food is out of this world and very reasonably priced. The bar staff are really lovely, (good looking too!) and nothing is a problem, a lovely family atmosphere at all times, will be a regular so long as John and Gill are the owners. Well done!

I went here with two of my friends for dinner one evening during the week and we had a lovely meal. The restaurant itself is tucked away from the bar which was good as there was a pub quiz going on when we arrived and we didn't want to disturb them! We were so surprised when we saw the menu...
