We had a wonderful time - well worth the wait for our first trip to the Top End. The highlight was my wife enjoying it so much and especially the fishing (that next fishing trip will be so easy to book!) - of course a big thank you to Mark Bomm's passion and guidance on the water - whether out... Hi Richard, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with Melville Island Lodge, I'll ensure it gets passed on to the staff. Lee and yourself caught some very nice fish, you made it on to our Facebook page with some of them. Thanks for booking with us Richard and hope to see you again in the future. More

I took my wife to Melville Lodge for 4 days in August. I told her it might be a bit blokey up there but when we arrived there were 2 other couples there so she felt very comfortable from the start and would have happily stayed longer. We were lucky - the weather was perfect and fishing pretty good. Unfortunately... More

Hi Richard, thanks for taking the time to write your comments. We're very happy Elaine had a good time, we try to make the lodge as user friendly for females as possible. Richard, what you didn't mention was who caught the biggest fish? More

This little island adventure has more wild life, bird life and fishing than the Amazon. The scenery is unspoilt. The accommodation is basic but very comfortable and clean. Mick, the chef can cook Barra and Jacks many different ways and to perfection every time. Mark Bomm, our guide had excellent knowledge and was accommodating with whatever we wanted to do.... More

Liz, thanks firstly for taking the time to write about your experience at Melville lodge. I agree with what you say, the fishing is good but there is more to the Tiwi Islands than just great fishing. The bird and wild life seen in a pristine environment is hard to beat. Your mum caught the biggest barra. How many times... More

Hi Fred, thanks for taking the time to write your comments on both Melville Lodge and Bathurst Lodge. You're only a young spritely chap at 77 Fred. Our oldest client is 91 years old. We're really glad you enjoyed yourself mate. You've put a lot of detail in your review, thanks for that. Goose Creek is a beautiful place Fred,... More

We were two elderly couples (all in mid 70s) visiting the Lodge on a fishing trip. The ladies first concern was the toilet arrangements and secondly how they would cope in a predominantly male environment. They were chuffed. The staff ensured that everything was made comfortable for them and it was appreciated. The areas we visited, were beautiful and unique... More

Hi Warren R, thanks for taking the time to post your comments. We're really pleased you both enjoyed yourself. We've tried to make the lodge as user friendly to both sexes as we can. Garry and Marcie work very hard to run a very tidy lodge and ensure everyone enjoys themselves. It's a beautiful, remote part of Australia and we're... More

I love the place with all my heart. It gives me that child like excitement that's hard to find when you get to my age ha ha. The fishing is crazy good and the lodge is in a majestic location with staff that can't do enough to make the trip memorable. I am too scared to go anywhere else, as... More

The Five Day fishing package was fantastic. Hospitality at the lodge was perfectly suited to the location. Had a wonderful time. Make sure you also visit the art centre. Discuss with managers before you book, as tides can play role in fishing success. Good value for money

Adventure tours can be a hit or miss experience for most, here you not find anything missing. Having just spent 3 days on the Island it is hard to know where to start the review. Our trip was a family boys fishing trip arranged by my father in law, who had been once before. Arriving by light plane from Darwin... More

We've been 3 times ... there's a reason. It's awesome fishing, great setting, quality staff, interesting and eclectic mix of people (especially the doctors table) and the beer is cold. We take 2 fishing per boat and a guide and that works well. The only possible blight is the travel distance to get to the fishing spots and although I... More

This woul;d have to be one of the best, remote area fishing lodges in the world! The fishing is incredible, with unspoilt barramundi fishing waterways, blue water options for game fish and options no matter what the tide or weather. The accommodation is in modified shipping containers (made to be able to handle the extrem.e weather) with air conditioning, comfy... More
