Me and my friend visited Scandic hotel Patria two times during summer 2007. The hotel choice was fairly easy because we got a great deal on the room price and it seems that Patria is by far the best hotel in Lappeenranta although it is a very basic Finnish small-town hotel. This is a typical Scandic, clean average sized rooms and everything like it should be. There are no extra thrills, but neither are there any complaints. My theory is that there are no bad hotels in Finland. I have been in about a dozen - all were quite comfortable, I hardly recall anything to complain about.
