We had a lovely stay in this unique accommodation, under floor heating is lovely in the kitchen, unfortunately the heating upstairs provided by the airconditioner is not very good, we stayed in January and the evenings and early mornings were very chilly, we could not warm up the upstairs part. The claw foot bath is wonderful to relax in, lovely... More

After a comfortable drive from Melbourne and a walk and shop through Daylesford we made our way 10 minutes out of town to the End Of The Line in Blampied where we were met at the gate by Kim who took us to the Governors Carriage. What a fantastic renovation Kim and Gary have done on the old 'red rattler'... More

Beautiful, peaceful bushland setting. We stayed 2 nights in the Governors Carriage, which was amazing. We woke to the sound of birds - reminded me of camping - but that's where the similarity ended, as the carriage was pure luxury. Regal furnishings, antique touches, yet all mod cons including heating, tv, microwave, fridge, nice bathroom etc. Breakfast provisions included -... More

Not too far from the big smoke, but far enough, and down about a km of very good unsealed road, to feel the solitude. Sheep and wedge-tailed eagles were our only companions. The carriage is beautifully restored, a pleasure to relax inside. Well appointed with all the basic facilities to allow you to bring food, wine and stay comfortable. Heating... More

Full marks to the proprietors for converting the railway signal box into a cosy private getaway for a couple. This is a great location if you want to visit the spa district but want to keep away from the hustle and bustle of 'town'. Open all the venetian blinds and you will take in the panorama of trees and cattle... More

We have stayed here twice, both in the Governor's Carriage and in the Signal Box. They are both lovely and we had a wonderful stayover. It is a lovely peaceful setting and your hosts provide a generous breakfast for you to cook at your own time and leisure.

Looking for somewhere different I decided to book the Governor’s Carriage to take my wife away on a quiet break. The converted “Red Rattler” was a credit to the owner and extremely clean and cosy (hydronic heating). Excellent value, with separate lounge with basic kitchen, bedroom and separate bathroom (bath and shower). The carriage is parked at its own siding... More

Booked last minute and stayed in the signal box. Was very lovely for the price and would highly recommend choosing the signal box due to the beautiful panoramic views from the top floor. Lovely history to it, great location, everything supplied (soaps to cereal and fresh loaf of bread) Lovely owner, clean property and serene surrounds Will be coming back... More

This place really is excellent. Its out of the way and peaceful and the carriage is amazing. If you are looking for something different this is the place for you. The guy who owns it leaves you alone and lets you enjoy the place all to yourself. Kangaroos around in the morning and a great setting. Fantastic.

My Hubby and I had a rare weekend without children and escaped to Daylesford. I booked to Goveners Carriage thinking it would be something different and I wasn't wrong. This lovingly restored carriage was just delightful, very clean and well appointed. Such a gorgeous location and welcoming hosts - who once we got a tour of the carraige we never... More
