Beautiful chateau in Malteser-ownership since 12th century. From rooms marvelous view on nice surroundings with many vineyards. Small breakfast room with good breakfast. Rooms are furnished in chateau style. Good beds. Ask for wine tasting in wine cellar (Vinothek Maillberg valley). Across castle courtyard one of top 5 restaurants of Lower Austria (Gault 2015). Unfortunately no wellness area.

The Schlosshotel & Herrenhäuser is a collection of (independent) hotels in historic buildings in Austria and neighbouring countries. Think “Relais & Chateaux”, but at the three – four star level, rather than top-notch. This property is one of the better ones in this association, but – like many others – is a bit worn on the outside. This, however, does... More

This is indeed a castle but not an imposing fortress, more like a large manor. The building is shaped like a capitol O with the hotel inhabiting one end, The parish church is at the opposite end and appartments etc. taking up the sides. When you arrive, drive over the narrow causeway into the courtyard. The hotel reception will be... More

We stayed at this wonderful hotel 3 days in september 2013 - in the midst of the grape harvest season. Spacy and clean rooms with nice views and a superb breakfast buffet. The hotel also runs a vinotek, where we could taste wines from the local wine producers. Lots of good wines, as this is is in Weinviertel - probably... More

Schloss Mailberg is definitely worth a visit. The rooms are designed in a perfect mix of historical furniture and modern bathing facilities. Great service, good breakfast, excellent restaurant! Mailberg itself is a very remote village. We went there in October and had the mots beautiful autumn weather. Two ideas for improvement: The historic suites are not really sound-proof. A sauna... I went to this lovely Castle with my girlfriend and we had a fantastic experience last June. They organised for us a wine tasting, a cycling ebikes tours, and a tractor safari. Therefore, you can choose 3 wishes from a list where you can choose a picnic, another bottle of sparkling wine, send a postcard to your friends or family,... More

Do visit Schlosshotel Mailberg !! We had an absolutely amazing time there, travelling as a couple and staying in one of the hotel’s so-called “Geniesserzimmer” which pay special attention to local details in furniture, ambiance and service. Beautiful. Besides being attentive, the staff was having a great time e.g. assisting during our wine tasting in the cellar of the Schlosshotel... More

We stayed in suite 14 which was a luxury suite, and was amazing! We had so much space and all the luxuries of home. This was our first visit as a family to Austria and we couldn't have been more impressed with the location, hotel, and service. This was truly a wonderful place to stay. The wine testing in the... We stayed in room 11 - a luxury suite and it was wonderful. All the castle I wanted with all the comfort my husband wanted. The little touches were well done and the staff was exceptional. If you want a peaceful place to go with good, reasonably priced food (for a place like that) then this is for you. There... More
