Mike and Catherine as well as their daughter are musicians, Mike also teaches Gaelic, and there is always traditional music somewhere in the house. The rooms are fine and well kept and the breakfast are very good. Mike is extremely helpful in offering suggestions and if your lucky you may catch he and Catherine along with other members of a... Close to rope-bridge and the Giants Causeway to all the amenities of Ballycastle this house also provides music,, traditional Irish culture and Gaelic language, and Michael is happy to teach you all he knows. And if you are already addicted to play Irish music, you might be lucky, (as we where) to find a session or rehearsal going on in... More

Teach an Cheoil B&B is the perfect spot. You can take the scenic route to the Causeway or the back route (avoiding all the tour bus traffic!) to the Causeway, Bushmills, Dunluce castle, etc. And... you can visit the picturesque but horribly touristy and expensive Portrush and Portstewart and then enjoy the quiet, local atmosphere of Ballycastle at night. As... More

For two lovely days and nights this month, we stayed at the home of Michael Sands and his musical family. There are plenty of regular reasons that this is special - the good food, the comfy beds, the casual atmosphere - but there are more compelling reasons that make this a very special place. A step onto the front porch... More

We had a wonderful visit. The home is very warm and welcoming and hearing a music session was an unexpected treat. Michael is extremely knowledgeable about the area and its magical places, and even took us out to see The Dark Hedges. Teach an Cheoil is a treasure!

All our needs were taken care of and we very appreciative of such a beautiful setting in Glenmakeeran yet within short distance of all of coastal North Antruim's attractions. We've just had a lovely relaxing stay in Teach an Cheoil, just outside Ballycastle, in the beautiful north of County Antrim. The proprietors are the most friendly and welcoming you could meet and when we arrived there was a session of Irish traditional music going full swing in the kitchen (it drew to a close at a sensible hour too,... Management response:

It was truly our pleasure and privilege to welcome Patrick and Bronagh here. Knowing their deep appreciation and skills for Irish traditional music and culture their kind words mean the world to us. We are the real McCoy or Sands (Ó Seanáin) in this case. We believe that our Gaelic culture is welcoming, inspiring and open to everyone from wherever... More

I had the pleasure of being one of the first guest at this new bed and breakfast near the Antrim coast. It's a lovely clean family home. The countryside could not be more picturesque and peaceful. They are a musical family with traditional kitchen sessions. They'll welcome you to join in playing, or just relaxing and enjoying the music, song... More
