Horrible rooms in an ex council house - on a council estate. No staff to meet you on arrival, or resident at the property. This proved a problem when other loud, drunk guests arrive after midnight. Dreadful experience. We stayed at Aspens which was one of two properties belonging to Stansted Lodge Ltd. The reason why we booked to stay close to Stansted Airport was to ensure that we had a reasonable sleep the night before our flight and a stress free journey to our destination the next day. We stayed at Stansted Lodge (Aspens) twice at the start and end of our trip. We found the staff to be very helpful and knowledgeable of the local area and they were willing to provide hints and tips. Just needed a cheap place to spend the night and that's what I got. Good: They opened up for me after midnight since my flight was late. (This was a big help!) Take-away breakfast, if needed.
