The food in this hotel is terrible, Stay here with a coach party and they could not care less about the party. The worst think about the restaurant was the breakfast as it was a joke, no clear instructions for procedures of ordering eggs and you had to make your own toast!! Spoon for getting the mushrooms was covered in... More

Took 85 yr old mother for an Afternoon tea. Made very welcome in the lounge. Afternoon tea served on a 3 tier cake stand with very large pot of tea for 2. consisted of tuna/ham/cheese triple sandwiches, warm scone with dish of loads of jam and cream. Home made chocolate gateau and chocolate brownies. Cost £14.95 for 2 people. (some... More

On arrival the first thing we noticed was that one set of the front doors don't close which meant the foyer was freezing cold and not secure. There were signs up making customers aware that the doors were glass which I also found strange. There was also a sign stating that the spa/gym was closed due to refurbishment. A major... More

What makes this hotel any good is the wonderful staff. Needs total refurbishment as its quite drab. The atrium very light, so much could be done to make it more attractive. Food so and so, breakfast being the best, beds quite comfy, take your own pillow if you suffer with neck/back problems. Air conditioning played up but we managed. Lighting... More

After staying here on various trips to The Open over the years, we went somewhere else last time as the condition of the hotel was on a downward spiral. Alas, the place we chose was not much better so this year we tried here again. Upon entering the lobby, it looked to be worse than the last visit a few... More

Returning back from Greece with our 2 cats and wondering where we could stay for 2 / 3 nights . Contacted Chalon Court Hotel as we needed somewhere central to St Helens. Cats were accepted which was a really nice surprise and took a lot of stress away. The room ( think it was not the most expensive) but it... More
