Great clean place to stay, stayed here because i had a meeting early morning in the town centre of St. Helens. Food was great and also popped downstairs early evening and enjoyed a cheap but nice beverage in their newly done beer terrace. Good price and great accommodation!

The Griffin is a lovely pub/restaurant/B&B that is run by a good team of staff headed by their manager Colin. We returned for the Haydock Racing weekend and got to the hotel mid afternoon, were shown to our room to rest and relax. The room was quite large, well fitted out and had all facilities we needed. There is a... More

We needed a place to stay for a few weeks while visiting England to attend a funeral. The Griffin was blocks away from where our relatives inn. They didn't have availability for several nights but they managed to sort us out and kept us well comfortable for the duration of our stay without tacking on extra costs. We couldn't be... More

The Griffin says its purpose is to provide accommodation for the business traveller, as a family owned hotel, to offer the same levels of service and comfort as its commercially available rivals. This is a worthy aim. It's price, £48 for a double room, is encouraging. It is a 400 year old building, formerly two stone built cottages. On the... More

The bedroom was clean and comfortable Staff are helpful and friendly Food (both dinner and breakfast) were very good and reasonably priced. Very conveniently located for travelling in the region. (We had an event in St Helens, but also visited Liverpool, Crosby and Port Sunlight). Also really great value

This is a very nice, quiet Old English Hotel in a perfect location. The staff were very friendly (nothing too much trouble) and the restaurant is exceptional with its great menu. Thoroughly recommended. We used it as we had to put up five family members visiting from as far as Australia, so two stayed here. Its just been refurbished as... More

I stay here regularly for work and it's always a pleasure. The staff are always so pleasant and attentive, especially the young girls behind the bar. The food is tasty and generous, a personal favourite is the Goats Cheese Salad which is yet to disappoint! The rooms vary in standard, the doubles upstairs are lovely, the singles downstairs are a...
