Outstanding Easter Lunch at the Woodlands Park. Lovely hotel, wonderful service and real attention to details when looking after their guests. The food was absolutely delicious, I especially enjoyed the Elements of Chocolate for pudding, which was such a clever idea! Our family recently visited for the Mother's Day Afternoon Tea as well, which was very special also. The sandwiches... More

This hotel is in a countrified setting and has a stately feel about it. We had Sunday lunch here for 9 of us. The service was very attentive and professional and the food delicious. Roast beef was of particularly good quality. Price of food was reasonable but wine fairly pricey.

We stayed here as a treat for our anniversary and my husband's birthday. We booked online for the Easter deal. Our room was a very good size, bed incredibly comfortable and great facilities including Sky Sports on the TV so I could watch the football. Dinner was included in our deal and although options were fairly limited the food was... More

We were my wife and me taking a dinner in the outstanding oak room. We haven't got any booking and wasn't problematic at all. Our waiter , I don't remember his name, was Spanish if I'm right was very funny and helpfull all the time. He find out that I'm German and he start to speak in German with me... More

A big disappointment. Having stayed at several other Handpicked hotels this was a real let down. Indifferent and inconsistent staff and lack of a real warm welcome spoilt the experience. Bensons Brasserie was souless and the food was not worthy of the price. £40 a head for £15 a head food was just taking the mickey. Please go back to... More

We stayed for two nights (Fri & Sat) and had a suite. The room was OK but needed a bit more attention to detail - skirting board thick with dust in places, some of the cloth furniture had had drinks knocked over on them and were stained - it would be better to remove them if they couldn't be cleaned... I was very disappointed to read that your found your room to be less than perfectly clean; please accept my sincere apologies that this was the case. I was delighted to read that you ate in both The Oak Room and Bensons and found breakfast good and my colleagues very friendly and helpful. I am afraid that our suites are... More

Woodlands Park was built for Mr Bryant of Bryant and May fame. Charming and architecturally striking house which retains the elegance of its era. We had lovely rooms, double deluxe very spacious with views. Service was excellent and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We had a ladies' celebration starting with afternoon tea in the Oak Room over looking the... More

Firstly, the hotel itself is charming and not 'worn' as some others have commented. The reception area, in particular, is very comfortable and has a warm atmosphere; I felt completely at ease reclining there before dinner, with a lovely glass of red. Secondly, the room is similarly charming and very clean. The bed is probably the best I have ever... More

We first stayed here around 9 years ago and were so impressed with the place that we would make an annual trip back, just for dinner, drinks and a relaxing evening away. It was a terribly impressive hotel back then. It's still lovely but it does seem that standards have slipped since back then. The chap who checked us in... More
