We booked this cottage through Rutland Cottages for a family get together, we found RC really helpful whilst we were booking. As requested we sent a security deposit cheque at the time of booking (months before the arrival) and were told this would not be cashed, it was only for if there was any damage; it was cashed within days... Could not fault the cottage or the location. Lovely and clean, everything we could need. Lots of information about the surrounding area. It was a real find. Booking was easy and Sarah was really helpful as we were a very late booking. We are looking forward to returning.

Stayed here with a group of friends and 2 small children. Lovely big house, plenty of space. We had a problem with a leaking toilet which was promptly attended to by the handyman. However, the property wasn't as clean as we would have liked and was generally not that well maintained. Needed some redecoration and replacement of kitchen utensils/equipment. So... More

We took the cottage for a family weekend, wondering a bit how good it was going to be. It was great! Met and shown round by the local chap who looks after it. Very spacious, comfortable and remarkably well equipped with everything you could need. We were very agreeably surprised. AND the new agents have been 100% co-operative.and friendly!

Three of us 'oldies' stayed in Corner Cottage (we all like a bedroom to ourselves!). Although the cottage was cold when we arrived it soon warmed up and was beautifully cosy all week. We loved the surrounding countryside and found plenty to do and see - an ideal centre for an autumn break with an excellent Co-op five minutes away... More

Stayed as a group of 3 families with young children The house was perfect for our get together with more than adequate facilities in terms of bedrooms, bathrooms etc, a fantastic lounge for relaxing in, a large well stocked kitchen and situated in a lovely village. The house was clean and tidy and we encountered no problems at all during... More

A group of us attend the Burghley Horse Trials every year and after one disasterous year elsewhere found Rutland Cottages' website. We've stayed the last 4 years at one of their cottages and this year tried the Pear Tree Cottage in Glaston which was amazing. There is so much space, two lounges to crash out after a busy day, a... Stayed in August 2012 with three generations of the family. House is deceptively big, with lots of space for everyone to relax or play. Ideal location for exploring Rutland Water, Corby and Stamford. Well equipped, spacious kitchen. Nice little garden. Very comfy sofas! Met at the property by local handyman who showed us round and gave us a few tips... More

We have stayed in the Old Forge for the last two years to attend Burghley three day event. The cottage has been comfortable and warm and ideal for six of us. The furnishings are very adequate, not plush, but not tatty either. We feel very much at home in this cottage I have read other reviews re return of deposit.... More
