Having stayed at the Dunblane Hydro several times over the years and on three occasions during the past year I reserved a double room for an overnight stay. As an Hilton Honors Member and regular Hilton customer I utilized HH 12000 points and together with a payment of £32 the room was secured on an accommodation only basis. I separately... More

I arrived at this imposing looking, grand hotel after dark and tired from a day's work, was looking forward to a nice and relaxing evening. However, when checking-in, the 2 staff at check-in had a "don't care" attitude and were not very responsive nor engaging. I mentioned that the Hhonor number on my file was outdated and gave my new... We booked this hotel for a treat for both our birthdays. As previous comments state it looks quite imposing and has had a makeover decoration wise. When we arrived on Monday 24 March there were quite a lot of people milling about waiting to be checked in. Check in time was 4 pm and we arrived at 4.15, I was... More

Took my mother and mother in law for an early Mother's Day afternoon tea on sun 23 march. It is not to be recommended. Service was terrible. Had to go through to the bar to get anyone to serve us as we were in a room off the bar. Was through at least 4 times to get more coffee, milk....... More

Stayed there the weekend of 21st March as part of a large group taking part in an exercise/fitness weekend. We arrived late due to train disruption but the check-in staff were excellent and we were in our room within about 10 minutes with warm cookies in hand!! Rooms were good, plenty of towels and toiletries (if you needed them), everything... More

Firstly its an amazing frontage as you arrive sitting high on a hill. We hadn't upgraded (mistake) and were given a room with no view and glazed windows which was very basic. First night we ate in the restaurant and we have no complaints about that, very nice, second night we ate in the bar, again it was nice but... More

Firstly it's really easy to get to and the location means there so much to see and do. We had just been to the Tullibardine Distillery where our weekend getaway had gotten off to an amazing start. Secondly the queue to get checked in was snaking down the stairs and out the door...not the best impression. So we decided to... More

Hotel was very well appointed, recently refurbished but colour scheme was dull and dingy, stairway walls far too dark for safety. Diningroom decor also too dark. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and kitchen prepared meal specially for my dietary requirements. Hadn't been at Hydro for years but was pleasantly surprised by its high standard.

Decent hotel. There is however a major issue with the lifts. Its a heritage / castle property and the lift is really really small. moving the bags can be a pain.. travel light if you are staying here. the floors can be a maze. other than that - the rooms are nice. has good restaurants. and good open space.
