It was booked for a relaxing break in part of Scotland we hadn't been to before. We were hoping for a bit of luxury as well as a base to explore Lanarkshire. The location is great, but for the cost and also as it was booked through the Macdonald website we expected more. We have stayed at three others and... more

This is MacDonald's only hotel near Glasgow (hotel group, no relation to burgers). It is perhaps a little far out, but within that category the high quality and price of the food is not out of place. It can be very cold - on arrival check that the radiator valve is ON and not covered by the curtains. The grounds... more

I stayed here for a couple of nights and while the price is okay you get what you pay for. We were on the 2nd floor in a non-smoking room which either had been a smoking room and not cleaned properly or one that the last guest had been smoking in. we tried another room but that was just the... more

I've stayed at this hotel before and wrote a pretty decent review - business took me back this time for a one night mid week stay. Overall - pretty average. The single room I had booked was dated, cramped and something akin to a seaside B & B down a narrow dingy corridor. Curtains were broken, the window didn't latch... more

Have stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years while visiting family. Its a great hushaway from the bustle of Glasgow and East Kilbride. You approach the hotel via a long grand woodland entrance in the countryside. Its an impressive entrance to say the least. The hotel used to be the home of local gentry in days... more

God where do I start with this disaster of a hotel! Well here goes War and Peace. My fiance and I chose to stay at the Crutherland House on Saturday 31st Jan 09 for a romantic night away. I stay at the Houston House though business on a regular basis and it's fab, so I though this place would also... more

We stayed here while visiting family nearby. It was good value for money as we booked on a summer special rate, around £80 per night b&b. We were given room 317 as they had a lots of footballers staying (it's a popular place for Scottish premiership and also intenational teams to stay while playing in Glasgow), and i'm assuming the... more

Crutherland House is close to East Kilbride but gives you the feeling of being in the countryside. It’s about 15 minutes drive from the M74; you need a car to get there. You approach via a long tree-lined drive, a good first impression. We were able to park right outside. The reception area was welcoming with comfortable sofas, the staff... more

A lovely traditional hotel with personal friendly service. The reception staff couldn't do enough to help and treated you like you were important to them. Our room was large with a great sized bathroom and fab power shower. Most of all it was clean. We were made to feel very at home. Slight niggle: kept waiting for breakfast one day... more

My mother and I had a wonderful two night stay at this hotel. We did heaps of tourism during the day and arrived back to friendly staff and quiet, peaceful room. The rate was excellent too - £89 including breakfast, which was truly vast. Great break. more
