Stayed in this hotel for 10 nights with a friend of mine, earlier this month, initially booked standard twin room, but were offered to upgrade to a superior room for 5 euro per night, which proved to be a great offer and I am glad we accepted it.Stayed on the top floor,in a room with balcony overlooking the bay, which I loved personally, with a/c,coffee making... more

Stayed at Alfonso in April and have to say I was not very satisfied. First to mention the price. For 35 Euros a night you can get a much better deal - even a 4 star hotel in Bugibba. My room was clean, but the bed was an absolute horror. No balcony, no full view mirror ( a must for... more

Just came back on April-24-09. Booked on line got there the beds were HORRIBLE ! In fact I think they were just box springs. Booked two rooms one internal and one "Superior". My daughter is a student in Europe and stayed in Hostels better than the inside room. There was nothing "Superior" about the "Superior" room. It had three single... more

Just booked this hotel again for the 3rd year running. We found it through Trip Advisor and are glad we did. Yes it's true that the rooms are basic, but then again so are the rates. My partner and I like to have a double room, but the room we keep returning to is a twin. On the first night... more

This was our second visit; for the price we paid (£18 per night) its a bargain. Staff are very friendly and the Hotel is only a 2 minute walk from Spinola Bay or Paceville. The downsides? My single bed was a bit worn out and uncomfortable and the restaurant which was once excellent and served good quality cheap food has... more

The Alfonso was exactly what I was looking for in Malta, an affordable place to sleep that's close to everything. I'm talking easy walking distance! It's not far from nightlife, bus stops, cinema, places to eat, and places to swim - and you have money left to enjoy Malta! It probably does need some updating, but I thoroughly enjoyed my... more

Before you decide to book anything in St. Julians, please understand the nature of the village: party, then afterparty, then beforeparty. It's not as wild as Ibiza or Vegas and families with kids or elderly people can easily enjoy their time there, but it is recommended for young party animals in the first place. That said, five stars is exactly... more

This was everything that you could expect for a very reasonably priced hotel. It's in a popular tourist area but set back so it is not too noisy (many hotels in St Juliansare very noisy - which is fine if that's the sort of holiday you're looking for). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and... more

Booked online independently from travel agents after finding a rate of £6.35 per person per night for a twin bed room. I think some of the negative reviews this hotel has attracted are unfair when when considers the price (unless others paid a fair bit more I suppose). The room was basic, but perfectly functional and acceptable, breakfast was fine... more
