I booked this hotel through Thomas Cook and I wanted to cancel immediate after I saw the comments on this site. The rep at TC said they have a 100% no refund policy. The room was dirty, mattresses stained with a brownish color made it impossible to sleep on it, big stains on the bathroom ceiling from molds. No air... More

On entering the room, it was clear to see that the beds were broken, the mattresses did not fit the frames and on pulling back the dirty looking bedspread, we found hairs and stains on the sheet and pillowcase. We asked to be put in another room as we would be unable to sleep in the beds as they were... More

I booked a single room online and paid just a little over 100 euro for 8 nights. I got a room with three beds. The mattresses were really fine, I slept well. Of course, the furniture or surroundings are not brand new, but really nothing as bad as described in some of the reviews. You get what you pay for... More

First time I have ever written a review but feel you should be warned!!!Do not stay here - at any price - as you will regret it. In summary - dirty on arival & remained so throughout our stay. smell of smoke, lift not working, stained cheap mattresses, bites, stained towels, dinghy lighting, broken furniture, inadequate wardrobe space, tile grouting... On arriving we were treated as second class citizens because we booked through the Internet. We were told that the room we booked was not available because other customers who booked in person wanted it, even though we reserved ours first. The owner was rude and aggressive, the room smelled of smoke and the twin beds that we were forced... More

No A/C in July in Malta, as it was broken, I just found this criminal. Given the weather conditions of the place, A/C becomes as indispensable as clean towels everyday, and if a hotel cannot provide that, then there's an issue for the guest. It wasn't extraordinarily clean and despite of being accommodated in the last floor, I couldn't even... More

My honest advice is to not waste your money on this terrible hotel. Do not think it is a bargain as you will enter the room and walk straight back out if you have any sense.I do not expect luxury and I am very laid back but the Alfonso is little more than a poor quality hostel. Air Con consists... More

This hotel is no better than a doss house. Our room was filthy with torn sheets, filthy pillows and dirty thin mattressses. The walls were covered in black marks, the shower and basin plugholes were full of hair and you had to hold the shower handset as the connection was broken on the shower rose holder. After complaining we were moved to another... More

i would like to start by saying the location is great !! spinola bay, Paceville, St georges bay, mini supermarkets, resturants, bars, and a bus stop are all within a stones throw away. The problem is the hotel, yes the staff are friendly and the breakfast is ok but this doesn't make up for ; very small room, bathroom very... More
