MALTA – TRIPADVISOR We spent a week at the Hotel CAVALIERI on Spinola Bay (St Julian’s), just north of Valetta, in early October 2012 and found the hotel very pleasant accommodation. It is ideally located on the edge of the water with views across the bay to the mixture of old and new buildings that line the shore in this... More

I completly agree with previous review. This is not 4 star hotel. Staff doesn't care about guests at all. About everything you should care by yourself. Swimming pool is very small. I would never chose this hotel again.

The location was superb but on every other count our accommodation and Thomson assistance, was totally unacceptable for a 4 star holiday. We arrived late evening and was given our room 325. On entering the room the central room light flickered continuously. On entering the bathroom, there were numerous cracked and broken floor tiles. On going to freshen up in... More

40 years going to Malta, first viist here. Arrived after midnight to be told over booked and no room. Sent to another hotel and asked to return in the morning. Demanded to see the manager having found out this had also happened to other people including a couple with a young baby who were sent to 3 diferent hotels before... More

A number of issues arose. Air conditioning not working in room 232. Paid extra for sea view but couldn't open door as told this would stop air conditioning working. Didn't work anyway. Sheets not changed in 9 nights. Pillows suitable for dogs. Attitude of most staff was appalling. Bar staff gave wrong measures. Food was suspect and caused problems. Chef... More

The Cavalieri is a great hotel from a location perspective, For us the hotel was acceptable but not 4*. It's more like a business/conference centre than a hotel that's main priority is it's holidaymaking guests. This never really bothered us as we were out and about sightseeing most of the time and it was a good central base. Pro's Rooms... More

Not sure what some people expect from a 4* star hotel but for us it was more than fit for purpose. Our room (634) was spotless throughout our 10 night stay. Only comment being that the music from across the Bay until the early hours was a bit off putting. Food wise the hotel provided enough choice to cater for... More

We booked half board with Thomas Cook. Had been reading all the reviews since we booked a full year earlier and went on holiday with a few concerns to say the least! We need not have worried we had a lovely time. Our room overlooked the pool and bay we were on the third floor right above the bar. The... More

I do not think the negative comments are justified. The streets can be glum and 'rustic' and yes there is plenty of construction but this is true of the entire island. none of this matters if you upgrade to a marina or sea view room. I can not fault the hotel, infact we got married there! (if anyone is thinking... More
