Stayed here the night before the great north run, hoping for an amazing sleep before the race. The apartment itself was lovely, with tea coffee and muffins left for us. Good bathroom with a bath and shower gels, shampoos etc. the living room was great with digital and DVD player with a sofa bed in there too. We had a one... More

Stayed in Flat 4, my partner was assured it was not a noisy flat when he enquired. However flat 4 is on street level of a busy road with buses passing every 30 seconds. The double glazing on the windows did not keep the traffic noise out. I'd hate to think what it would be like without double glazing. My... More

clean, comfortable and friendly service I would highly recommend staying here rather than a hotel - nice eateries dotted about - Serendipity tea room and D' Aqua restaurant nice finds and within a minute or 2 walking distance

Business or pleasure I would use this for both. In the heart of the city in a newly developed area. Eclectic mix of restaurants and cafes serendipity tea rooms a must along with Dr feelgood for tapas and cocktails. we were welcomed by the staff of Hackett and made to feel welcome just like old friends. A lovely evening at... More

We were very pleasantly suprised by this one bedroom flat with a sofa bed in the lounge. Lovely modern fittings in a well located Victorian house. We didn't cook (ate in the restaurant downstairs) but the kitchen is sufifciently well equpped that one could. The only negative is that it was hot without the windows open (suprisingly so for a... This was a fabulous apartment - huge rooms, very luxurious, well equipped, quiet and comfortable. As other reviewers have said, the restaurant downstairs is also excellent and so convenient and friendly. There was a little confusion about checking in after hours but Haley went out of her way to sort it out smoothly and quickly and all was well. We... More

These apartments are very clean and spacious. They are extremely well equipped and comfortable. The D'Acqua restaurant below is highly recommended. Nearest supermarket is about five minutes walk away. The only criticism was that I felt the Estate Agents who gave us the keys could have been a little more empathetic to the fact that we did not know the... More

Stayed at Hawksley for a few days to attend a much recommended brewing course at Sunderland's Brew Lab. The apartment living areas are incredibly spacious and nicely furnished but...they are probably designed to be commercial spaces and the bathrooms are little more than cloakrooms (tiny cupboards!). The venetian blinds are permanently down - to hide an unattractive view over a... More

Chose the Hawksley as overnight accommodation following a football match at the Stadium of Light. The rooms in the apartment were some of the largest I've ever stayed in. They were tastefully furnished and decorated with a range of facilities for those wishing to self cater. Mind you, it's located directly above a very good restaurant (Restaurant D'Acqua) so we...
