When I read some of the reviews I was abit worried, but this hotel was fine. Nice big family room, clean room, clean bathroom with clean towels. Good location, we were there on a Friday night, room at the back of the hotel, heard some noise but did not keep us awake. Overall, good , clean, value for money hotel. more

After reading the reviews I was about to cancel but in the end went ahead and the place was fine. Ok it's basic but it's a travelodge and cheap. very good location if you don't stay when the nightclub is open, I stayed on a Tuesday and did not here a thing all night, very quiet. It was clean, the shower... more

Probably the worst Travelodge i have stayed in due to noise and music from street till 2am (hotel based above a pub and club) and a room that was not up to standard (even for a traelodge) with no kettle, curtains hanging off rail and bad bed. Also, not much parking and disabled spaces taken up by works vans (NOT... more

To start on the positive side: the room was large enough and the bed was alright. The rest: a noisy street, no shower head, no toilet paper, a dirty table, ugly design. Typically a hotel where one ends up, because it's close to one's meeting venue. I can't think of another reason why one would end up there. more

We're just back from a night's stay. The room was clean & tidy and the location was only walking distance away from the 'Bridges - shopping centre' and close to Sunderland's museum & botanical garden & park. We chose to eat next door at the 'Lambton Worm' a Wetherspoons pub - the food was lovely. Not far away is the... more

We travelled to Sunderland to see a show at the Empire Theatre, which is just a 1 minute walk from the hotel. Unfortunately, that is about the only positive thing one can say about this hotel. We should have suspected problems when we pulled into a carpark littered with beer cans, bottles and pizza boxes. This is due to the row... more

What can you say about travelodge? Basic fare, but my room was clean and comfortable. It's above a pub, but if you make sure you get a room on the top (third) floor, you get less problems with the noise. Friendly service, if not hugely efficient! I had to go down to get my breakfast pack when it wasn't delivered... more

I stayed here for a single night as part of a work related trip to Sunderland. The hotel itself is very central and close to the Metro, mainline train station and bus station. As has been previously noted the hotel is part of a block of buildings and is flanked on one side by a large Wetherspoons pub and on... more

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, and by the third night l was ready to come home. The hotel itself is very well positioned, very near public transport. The room l has was massive, and was very clean and very comfortable bed. Facilities in room and hotel are basic. My biggest gripe with this hotel is the noise from... more
