We have stayed here three times now (Twice for New Years Eve and once for Valentines day) and have not one complaint. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The food is always outstanding, the drinks are not too overpriced for the location and the staff are willing to help wherever they can. The leisure facilities are very good if... More

Sunderland is not well served for hotels. This the old Seaburn Hotel has a fantastic situation, and is I think where Lowery came for his summer hols. The hotel does not seem to play on this. We had a superb room overlooking the bay, the weather was fine and could have seduced a move to the north east for the... More

Firstly I should say that Sunderland is starved of hotels, not just good hotels, but hotels full stop. As a regular traveler to Sunderland, I have tried most of what there is, and of the limited options available the Marriott is about the best. The rooms as lean comfortable and of a good size. However for a 4 star hotel... More

My company booked me into this hotel for a training course I had in south shields. I was pleasantly suprised as the hotel frontage doesn't really do it justice, as the lobby is what you expect of 4 star hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the room was very spacious and clean, and unlike the frontage of... More

I remember this hotel as being the Grand Seaburn Hotel about 30 years ago, so when my company booked me into the Marriott I was intrigued. The frontage has changed somewhat, and doesn’t have the grand feel anymore – it’s now a large corporate style hotel. I had a sea view room which was spacious and apart from the fridge... More

Situated in a nice part of Sunderland, with great sea views and superb for access to the beach and promenade. Excellent service from all of the staff, all of whom were attentive and polite. Good secure car parking facilities, complimentary papers and a nice little gym and pool. Some noise pollution between rooms due to age of building e.g. TV... More

Nice, clean room with tasteful decor and comfortable mattress. Great nights sleep. The buffet breakfast is very comprehensive and will satisfy any breakfast want.
