A good hotel when in the region for any reason. Our room was spacey, had airconditioning, a bathtub and the other usual things. But it was tastelessly furbished and outdated. No wifi in the room. But it was all working to perfection. So, no complaints from me. Breakfast was plentiful.

This is a 3 star rated hotel located not in a big city, so don't put your expectations too high. I don´t regret for the couple nights I spent there, but I can treasure the experience as amazing! I beleive the hotel need to be much better maintained, there´s some "retouchs" required. If that happen, everything can be different. And... More

The hotel is situated in the small village of Sabrosa and is well situated for exploring the Douro river valley, around Penhau and Regua. The rooms are spacious – ours had a balcony overlooking the pool area. The room and bathroom are getting “tired” and need renovation and updating. The breakfast was an average continental.

My wife and I stayed at Solar Dos Canavarros and have only wonderful memories of our days there and at Sabrosa as a whole. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. We would likely go back to this hotel when we revisit this hometown of the greatest mariner of all time, Fernao de Magalhaes.

Was dumped here by Rent Douro Tours - over a half hour from the Regua region that was advertised. Hotel was run down and in need of repairs. Room was disgustingly filthy - stain on wall in corner, dirty decorative pillows, white stains all over comforter and spare blanket, cheap furniture, broken lights in hallways, crowbar damage to room door... We stayed there for two weeks in June. Not much to say about hotel. Rooms are small, plain, and not very well kept. However, this is not the reason why I would leave a negative review. The fact that someone on our second last day there, went through all our personal belongings, clothing, gifts, which they unwrapped, it looked to... More

I stayed in this hotel one night (June of 2008). The rooms are good and the hotel has common enchanting spaces. There is a pretty swimming pool in the open air. The restaurant is not special at all nevertheless it will be your choice because there is no another restaurant near. The hotel is in the Douro Region but you... More

Simple, quiet but nice hotel in a small town with lots of history and wine. Try Bucheirito

It's too normal. Nothing to say about it. It is an old building but not a particularly beautiful one. The location really hasn't much to it. The building was added with a lot of new rooms that are a little too much and in doubtful taste. The service wasn't very good and by no way made you feel at home,... More
