The furnishing certainly has a "grandmotherly" ambiance to it with its old furnitures. My room was clean and tidy, the bed ok, but the pillow a bit to thick for my liking. I just came back from Larvik, staying at Lysko hostel with my wife and two kids and as for me it was exactly what we expected. Walking distance from bus and railway, situated in one of the neatest areas of town, with a swimming spor right around the corner. Owners run an antiques shop, which show in the decorations of the hotel rooms, heavily inclined towards Norwegian national-romanticism. If you happen to be a fan, the place is a treasure grove. We were not sure what to expect, especially in terms of decor, but we were really happy with our room and stay. The rooms are well decorated with antique furniture and clean, but the owners clearly hate the fact they earn their livelihood from their guest house. There is no breakfast (which is not completely clear from the website), there was no information in the room and the owners were totally unwelcoming and brusque.
