Twice to this hotel, warm friendly, excellent for children. good choice of food for both Breakfast and evening meals. Helpfull staff. Rooms a little small but heyho don't spend too much time in them anyway. Bar quite pricey and most people seem to buy from the supermarket and drink in rooms! more

We returned to the Ustedalen and Geilo 2 years after our first visit. The hotel is as good as ever - staff and facilities are excellent for the price paid. This hotel wasn't up to our standards. Bathroom needed serious updating! Bath was tiny with a strange metal rim around it which had scale under it (turned brown, not very appealing), also the bottom of the bathtub was very slippery (I slipped and hurt my leg quite badly) and the smell was unbelievable! Great place to ski, a 5 minute walk to the downhill station if you don't want to wait for the frequent buses. Excellent food, the seafood and fish is superb. This was one of the few less hotels in Geilo that had an elevator. Its quite ugly on the outside but the room, beds and bathroom were fine. Our room had a nice view of the lake. more
