We stayed for one night on a drive across Southern Norway. Our room was on the 4th floor on the Southern side away from the railroad. The bed was comfortable and the room clean and well functioning. Don't know if any trains passed by during the night. We had a good Norwegian style buffet breakfast before heading for the road.... More

This is a very modest hotel. The location is good as it is close to the ski slopes at Geilo ski resort and in the middle of the village centre. The room rates are low at Norwegian standards in general and the amongst the lowest at Geilo. A good hotel charges 2-3 times more. Breakfast is ok and the cafe... More

Enjoyed our stay at Ro Hotel. Only downside was that the last guest in our room had "forgotten" something personal in the toilet. The cleaning staff had obviously not detected it. This is unacceptable!!!! Besides this I will not hesitate to recommend this hotel if you want a cheap place to stay in Geilo. Breakfast was good.

We stayed here for 4 nights after retreating from bad weather in the mountains. We were made very welcome and had a lovely room with a view across to the ski slopes. The room had a proper seating area, it was warm and we could control the temperature easily. There was a free computer downstairs for internet access. We didn't... More

This was our fourth stay at the Ro Hotel, always a friendly welcome. Warm and clean , good hot showers, view of ski slopes across the glen. Good filling three course meals with coffee or tea served in the Ro Kro downstairs, candle lit beside fire. Winter pension a good deal for Norway, incuding packed lunch made from breakfast buffet.... A "Spartan" facility, which is fine for active people hill walking or skiing. There is no pretence of luxury. The hotel is very expensive though modest in comparison to others in Geilo, which is a premium priced resort Summer or Winter. Hence the 4 star rating. Right beside railway station and saved an expensive taxi fare to other hotels. Train... More

we booked this hotel as a stopover for a night instead of taking a 6 to 7hour train ride to oslo. The hotel right next to the rail station. Our room was facing the ski mountains instead of the track. There were only 3 rooms occupied. We can still hear a slight noise but it was ok. The hotel is... More

We arrived here in the rain and heard about the Oslo bombings as we walked in the door so our feelings about the hotel were probably influenced by this. The host was charming and the room was spotless but the hotel was spartan at best and very tired looking. A most depressing place given the circumstances. This wasn't helped by... More

Ro Hotel is special: central but quiet location, close to all attractions, great and easy-access ski resort, good rooms, wonderful three-course-dinner included in the Ro Kro and a make-your-own-sandwich option for lunch. If you want a great stay and do not want to spend a fortune this is an excellent and cozy choice.
