For a ski/outdoor activities hotel is pretty good. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food is great and the facilities not bad at all. When they forgot to serve us at dinner and I reminded them, they couldnt do enough to make up for it! The spa is very nice but since they dont have adult only times its... more

The hotel is surprisingly large for a small resort. It attracts a lot of conference parties, etc. It is very central. The ski bus stops outside hotel. Not far from railway station which also acts as bus station. The heated pavement from main street ensures guests do not slip on ice on the slight hill up to the hotel! Our... more

We were put up here for a conference, so I don't know what the room cost, but did experience the way they do conferences here, and I was certainly very happy with that. The hotel is large and combines a feeling of tradition with all modern facilities - you do have to navigate a few corridors and such to find... more

I stayed at the Dr. Holms Hotel through Globus Tours. I was taking their "Scandanavian" tour and Globus chose to have the tour stop for the night in Geilo on its way to Oslo. I found the Dr. Holms Hotel to be excellent. The rooms were roomy, clean and nicely furnished. The hotel offers a hot tub, whirlpool, wading pool... more

I wrote a review last February about our stay at Dr Holms, but it seems to have disappeared. Small rooms, a bit shabby etc, but the thing that was most upsetting was that my husband has his brand new salomon shoes stolen from the locker room. I hope that they have upgraded their security since last year. Overall food was... more

We stayed in the Dr. Holmes hotel for one evening while driving from Oslo to the Bergen area. Our room comfortably accomodated 2 adults and one 12 year old child. The hotel was charming and the staff assisted us with all of our requests. Over the years this place has hosted a number of dignitaries and celebrity guests and also... more

We stayed here for a week in February 2006. Overall it is a lovely hotel. Just a few points to add to other reviews: The food was superb. One evening there was an excellent buffet, for the rest it was waiter service with a fixed menu (no choice). This was quite honestly the best food I have ever eaten anywhere.... more

Went with my husband and daughter, aged 4. Overall the holiday was fantastic and we were really pleased with the hotel. There is building work going on (an extension) but we can honestly say we were totally undisturbed by it. The pool is generally very quiet, though the water is pretty chilly when you first get in. Agree that the... more

We had a great week staying at the Dr Holms hotel. There was some building work and improvements to the hotel but this did not affect the stay. Food was amazingly good and the staff very eager to please. Skiing was good lots of different types of runs to keep most people happy. more

We stayed at Dr Holms for a weekend of skiing, and will never, ever return. The hotel itself has a certain charm, but is looking a bit tired. However, we experienced a lot of problems while there, which the staff failed to deal with at all. The dinner buffet was absolutely dreadful (you had to stay half board). Both the... more
