In Valtionhotelli are two sides - "the castle hotel" and "the spa hotel". The castle hotel is old jugendstyle building and spa hotel is modern. We stayed at spa hotel side, castle hotel is more romantic, I think. The reception is in castle hotel. There are free parking places, with connection to aux heating in front of both hotels. The... This says to be one of the most beautifully buildings in Finland and it surely is. The hotel is like a castle, it has very nice atmosphere. If you stay here ask a room on the castle side, not the new one. There is a newer building that is not as exciting as this castle. All the hotel interior are... More

The old style cosy hotel in the centre od Imatra is really nice with a location close to the river where you can see the water from the damm will be released at 18.00. The rooms are clean and nice and the hotel has a room that serves great local food

Stayed here for the bachelorette party for the weekend. The place was chosen because of it's beauty and historical value. There is the Emperor's Hall in the building, and overall the hotel looks like a castle. The best way to have a relaxing weekend is to have a room in the spa building. This way you will have saunas, swimming... More

I stayed at this hotel during a 2-week business trip. Beautiful architecture next to a forest and river. My room was in the spa building which was accessible by an underground tunnel, although there was a nice path above ground. It was located quite close to a supermarket and a small handful of restaurants. The town was quite small but... More

The hotel building is impressive and the surroundings unique. The spa is pretty ordinary: minuscule swimming pool and an average gym. The rooms are quite nice and pretty well looked after. The personnel is friendly - as I guess they should - but not very plentiful. There is a limit after which cutting down personnel is visible in the level... More

I booked my weekend in the Castle for my wedding anniversary in June four months beforehand, to enjoy the beautiful building and great athmosphere. The early booking was because I knew Castle-side of the hotel is in high demand due its speciality. Upon arrival, we were told that our room was on the spa side of the hotel, where we... More

I spent a night at the hotel right next to impressive natural beauty Vuoksenkoski waterfall. The location is impressive and it has rich history with famous visitor like Russian imperial family and the emperor of Brazil, just to name some. The hotel is only average though. Rooms are OK for overnight stay but not a great pleasure, mine was also... More

Amidst the snow the ambience and the atmosphere was electrifying. From my visit I started to sense the Father Christmas is in the vicinity. the hotel is made up of a castle which has a command over Imatra, especially in this time of the year. the ambience gave me a good sense of Christmas especially the pine trees freckled with... Looking like a fairy-tale castle, this one was originally built as hotel early XXth century. The interiors are charmingly old: painted walls, wide staircases, and all the rooms have got windows of various shapes, overlooking the forest and the river. The rooms facilities are mostly basic (I would like to have a bigger wardrobe although it is not that crucial... More
