I agree with the reviewer that this hotel is very tired. It desperately needs investment and a makeover. We were shown 2 bedrooms, one ancien and the other moderne. Unfortunately the moderne was ancien too! The bathroom door didn't fit, the curtain rail fell off but the bed was comfortable. The food in the restaurant was unexceptional. Did I complain?... more

We stayed here on our way down to the Dordogne on the 5th July and were rather disappointed. Firstly the location is great, a rural quiet setting and the main house has some character. A relaxing and informal manor house - in a peaceful parkland setting. Just outside Louviers (a busy provincial town - with a good Saturday market), and with a strong emphasis on food.
