There are only two rooms available in this converted water mill but that is to its merit. Lots of space, the Loire to one side of you, a large fishing lake to the other, very tastefully designed and finished, we could not have chosen a better stop over. We only spent one night but would definitely love to return for... More

As our first stop on our road trip to the South we were welcomed by Aurelie who took great trouble to make us feel at home. Amazing old building (former mill) being converted into 2 units with one more to be completed later this year. The lady of the house has a flair for her role as a hostess cum... More

Very charming chambes d'hotes. With only two rooms (a third will be ready end of the year), you share a large large living room, the garden and swimmingpool with only one other couple (and the swimming pool with the doughter of the hosts Aurelie and Philip). Aurelie is really made for this "job" (I guess she doesn't see it as... More

We discovered this place by coincidence (google maps), and were charmed by the pictures on the website. Reservation procedure was quite formal, but once we arrived, we were welcomed by Aurélie as if we were good friends instead of hosts! Very charming place, very flexible support by Aurélie, who renovated this place very recently together with Philippe. Breakfast outside at... More

Peaceful, most comfortable and above all really friendly reception and welcome. Very clean and excellent breakfast. Madame was delightful and couldn't have been more helpful. Situated on the lake it would be a delight for fisherman although we are not! Close to the main route and halfway between Calais and Bordeaux so convenient for English people going to the Dordogne... We stayed a night last year on our way south and promised ourselves we would return. So we booked a short break for earlier this month, using the Moulin as a base for visits to Orléans and towns along the Loire. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay: Aurélie and Philippe are kind and thoughtful hosts, the room was as comfortable as... More

Our visit to Moulin St Julien as an overnight stop on the way to Bordeaux was a Google-guess. On the website it looked lovely and my rusty translation (no English on the site yet) suggested it would fit the bill. We were delighted when we arrived and found the mill behind some fairy-tale wrought iron gates. Everything is calm and... More

We stayed here last August for one night with our nine month old on our way to the South. We just wish it had been for longer! Very short distance off the motorway and couldn't have been easier to find. I am so pleased I booked here rather than in Orleans itself. We couldn't believe our luck when we drove... More

Stayed one night in September, really wished it was more! Stunning mill in peaceful location on the river. Our room was lovely, converted to a very high standard. Aurélie was very helpful with places to visit and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend , and hope we can go back one day..

I absolutely agree with previous reviewers - this is a lovely place to stay! The mill itself is beautifully situated on the river; it has been sympathetically converted and elegantly furnished. It was easy and quick to find from the autoroute, yet you would have no inkling of that as you gaze out of the bedroom window over the river... More
