I spent a couple of nights at the village with my 81 year old mother, sister, neice and nephew and we all enjoyed it. The accomodation is basic but could sleep 5 of us comfortably in the same room and the cost was $150 per night (during school holidays). There is a communal kitchen to prepare your own food and... We stayed here for 3 nights in September. It was a unique and enjoyable experience. You instantly will feel that you have gone back to a simpler time. It may not be for those that can’t adapt. The ‘cabins’ are basic, although ours had a washroom. The beds have mosquito netting because the cabins are not completely sealed (they were... More

This has to be the best forest retreat I have ever stayed in on my simple budget. The rooms are delightfully simple yet spectacularly set amongst the rainforest. The property is not fenced and all manner of wildlife wanders through the grounds. Very special. The amenities have to be the cleanest I have seen in Australia budget accomodation. Friendly people man... More

Stayed on a Saturday night on the way to Cape Tribulation with my wife, daughter and her boyfriend and now wish our travel plans allowed a longer stay. Whilst the accommodation is basic it is what I expected in the middle of a rainforest. An added bonus was the BBQ on Saturday night (usually advertised for Sundays only). Excellent value... More

The Good: We ate two meals at Crocodylus Village and enjoyed our first meal. Given the remote location, we were pleased with the quality of food. I ordered a pasta dish which was very good, but I cannot remember what my husband ordered. I do remember that he liked his, but he liked mine better! :) The staff was very... More

My wife, 7-yr-old daughter, and I spent two nights here in early August. We stayed in one of the bungalows (Turpentine) and found the accommodations to be excellent and exactly what we expected from reading other reviews, maybe even better than expected! We've described the bungalow to friends as "luxury camping." If we are ever fortunate enough to visit the... More

Travelling with a large group of friends, we spent 4 nights here and enjoyed every minute. Sally and Steve full of helpful information about all the things to do around Daintree and Cape Tribulation, and as far as I was concerned we could easily have spent a week there enjoying the rainforest, the pristine beaches, activities such as night walks,... This is just the sort of accommodation that gets you close to the environment - sure, it isn't luxury, but you have everything you need, and if you are looking for luxury rather than the rainforest, maybe you should go to one of the other places. However, in Crocodylus you will find yourself becoming part of the environment - amazingly... More

14 of us shared 2 large cabins - which could have been a recipe for disaster but turned out great. It was an amazing rainforest forest experience sleeping to the sound of birds and nocturnal animals (and snoring) Our hosts, Sally and Steve and the rest of the staff were friendly and super helpful. We enjoyed their lovely home cooked... More
