We slept one night in a double room, and had an amazing forest experience! The staff are extremely friendly, the atmosphere is homely, comforting and relaxed. The facilities (bar and restaurant) are great - huge plates of food for a song (good value, great quality). If you are a light sleeper, make sure you take ear-plugs as the forest can... More

Spent 2 weeks in a hut directly facing the rainforest. Crocodilus is quiet and friendly, great food - cookd bfasts, packed lunches, lovely dinners from $15 cooked by Darlene, she puts love in to cooking. Pots of herbs avail and a great communal kitchen. Accom is in huts divided into four dorms (2 bunk beds) or private huts avail. Bar... More

Hi all, we stayed one night on our way through to Cooktown. The place is a true jungle accommodation. We loved it. We were upgraded to family room. It rained overnight and we enjoyed the rain over the roof and there weren't any leaks. The staff were super friendly; and helped get organised with all day tours. The meals are... More

We came to this area 20 years ago and the road was unsealed, now it is sealed it is easy to zip around and visit all the attractions, it is only 20 mins to get from Cape trib to cow bay. Crocodylus has a special atmosphere, it is a canvas village with good value quite basic clean comfortable accommodation. We... More

Crocodylus village is a series of cabins in the middle of the rainforest, so you sleep amid the noises of birds and nocturnal animals, but with really comfortable beds, fresh white linen and towels, mosquito nets, and ensuite bathrooms with high-pressure super-hot showers. There is a self-catering kitchen near the bar as well as a restaurant café, where we had... More

Just stayed here for 4 days, fantastic set up in tents, it rained heavily for first few days but we stayed nice and dry in our tent. The forest comes even more alive in the rain. Steve, the owner is very enthusiastic and friendly and knowledgable. You really need a car unless you want to remain local & go on... More

Six fantastic nights for a family of five in the rain forest @ Crocodylus. Weather was mixed but our hosts Sally and Steve made sure that we enjoyed every moment. Accommodation was clean and had wonderful hot, powerful showers with fresh towels delivered daily. This is not the four seasons but does living in the rain forest brilliantly - wildlife... More

We had planned to stay at Crocodylus Village, but a cyclone caused enough damage there that we could not stay. However, we were able to take a lovely side trip - the overnight kayak paddle trek to snapper island. We got a sense of our hosts, who helped us set up from the trip and clean up after - and... More

This is a great way to truly appreciate a taste of sleeping in the rainforest. The showers are not great but you have to adjust to a different style of accommodation. The host are nice and helpful, the common kitchen fairly efficient and the surrounding activities a lot of fun.
