The whole beauty of Crocodylus Village is the fact that it gives you an authentic, living-in-the-jungle experience. Built in the middle of the forest, it boasts about the fact that it is an "un-fenced location" in a forest & so one needs to be careful while walking around! True to the fact, all cottages are decently distant from each other... More

Not sure what happened to the shower information but showers are available (hot or cold) from 6.30-10.30AM and 4.30-8.30PM - this is when we run our bigger generator and the big water pump to give you lots of pressure FYI on the night walk - it costs $35pp and goes from 8-10pm nightly - it is a rainforest discovery walk... From Cairns, we rented a car and drove up to Daintree National Park. We found Crocodylus Village and booked online a few weeks previously. The resort is part of the rainforest experience. It is actually in the middle of nature, you are surrounded by giant mahogany tree and the sounds from birds, insects and whatnots will surround you day and... More

We spent five nights as a family of five & although accommodation is very basic we had a great time. The cabin tents are large, clean & spacious but don't really have any soul. A few comforts like an arm chair or small lounge with a coffee table could make a difference. Beds & linen are very basic but comfortable.... More

Arriving at Crocodylus was certainly a bit of a surprise - this is not your conventional hotel/motel. The cabins are well maintained and the mesh walls were a welcome reprieve from the air conditioned environments you'll find in Cairns. This must be one of the few places in the world where you can stay quite literally in the rainforest -... More

I spent a couple of nights at the village with my 81 year old mother, sister, neice and nephew and we all enjoyed it. The accomodation is basic but could sleep 5 of us comfortably in the same room and the cost was $150 per night (during school holidays). There is a communal kitchen to prepare your own food and... We stayed here for 3 nights in September. It was a unique and enjoyable experience. You instantly will feel that you have gone back to a simpler time. It may not be for those that can’t adapt. The ‘cabins’ are basic, although ours had a washroom. The beds have mosquito netting because the cabins are not completely sealed (they were... More

This has to be the best forest retreat I have ever stayed in on my simple budget. The rooms are delightfully simple yet spectacularly set amongst the rainforest. The property is not fenced and all manner of wildlife wanders through the grounds. Very special. The amenities have to be the cleanest I have seen in Australia budget accomodation. Friendly people man... More

Stayed on a Saturday night on the way to Cape Tribulation with my wife, daughter and her boyfriend and now wish our travel plans allowed a longer stay. Whilst the accommodation is basic it is what I expected in the middle of a rainforest. An added bonus was the BBQ on Saturday night (usually advertised for Sundays only). Excellent value... More

The Good: We ate two meals at Crocodylus Village and enjoyed our first meal. Given the remote location, we were pleased with the quality of food. I ordered a pasta dish which was very good, but I cannot remember what my husband ordered. I do remember that he liked his, but he liked mine better! :) The staff was very... More
