Location: This is one of the good things. Is very nice, close to the lake, so the view from rooms and not only is very nice. The area is quiet. Getting there could be a little difficult as for the last part (less that 1 km) you have to exit the main road and the road is quite bad. Not... More

Though acces road is almost tricky (a forrester road) , when you reach this hotel everything becomes bright and beautiful.Award winner-architecture and harmonic integration with Mother Nature lets you enjoy one of the most special places ,one of the best in Romania. I spent New Year`s evening in this location and I was enchanted : Food, drinks and services among the... More

I have first come across Atra randomly on the internet sometime earlier on this year, and it seemed surreal, from initial research, that such a modern, luxurious and minimalist concept would even exist in Romania, let alone in a location such as Valea Doftanei with its breathtaking scenery. So we decided to have a night's stay here as part of... More

Thank you Tibi, for taking the time to write such comprehensive review. I am sorry for the GPS misfortune, my advice is to use Waze and look for Atra Doftana. I am sorry for the road, also. We are trying to keep the road on good shape but there are also some logging activities on the same road so it... More

Although I always check the reviews of other people before going somewhere, this time I didn't want to listen. And that was wrong. It wasn't so much to lose and it is not far away from where I live. I guess I couldn't believe my eyes that this beautiful and always fully booked place could be anything else than amazing.... More

Hello Viviana, I am so sorry about your experience at Atra. I am writing you after two weeks, after I checked myself that all the bathrooms are refurbished, all the rooms are painted and clean. We started some renovation work several weeks ago (maybe you noticed the rebuilt parking on the roof without all the mud that I was so... More

It's a 3-4 stars hotel, with very few facilities available. Low value for money. Remote location, there are not many things to do around or at the hotel. On the other hand, the restaurant was very good, serving original dishes.

Words are not enough to describe the feeling I had there. The structure is really interesting, the view is amazing; this place is so peaceful you can feel the energy of the surroundings, the trees, the lake... Reading a book (they lave lots of books there) on the terrace, while having a coffee in the morning - it's perfect. The... More

I was at Atra the past week-end, with my husband and my daughter, hoping that we'll spend some quality time. Unfotunatelly IT was not exactly like this. The room was not ready when we've arrived, the lady at the front desk was not really amabile, and She told us that we'll have to wait till the room will Be clean.... More

Remarkable view, modern restaurant design, tasty and refined dishes although the menu is very limited in choices. The only issue was the personnel lack of courtesy and poor management. It is inadmissible for a five stars hotel & restaurant to offer so poor quality customer service. I was also billed for a dish I refused and the manager response and... More

We planned a round trip through Transilvania and Atra was the first stop. The view towards the lake is so beautiful...breathtaking. The rooms quite basic but the food unfortunatelly dissapointing. An overall 3 stars following my experience, nothing special except the view and external architecture of the hotel. Someplaces, even nice, dont have the chemistry, the energy to make you... More

1. Acces is via a road which is not paved impossible for a normal car, must have a 4x4 2. The only indicator for this hotel is there where you have to turn from the main road. 3. The parking is quite small. 4. The quality of arhitectural details is quite low. 5. The service at the restaurant is not... More
