If you like the idea of a relaxing weekend (or week) away from the madding crowd in a secret location high on the Strzelecki Range and deep in the rain forest of the Tarra-Bulga National Park, then contact Nina and Torben and drive to Balook. Torben is a registered carpenter and has had a previous life as a long-distance trucker... More

We had a really great time staying here last year. The local Tarra Bulga National Park was incredibly beautiful, tranquil and so reassuring that there are pockets like this still in the world. The service was fantastic :) Niki was really lovely and couldnt have been more helpful. She is also a great cook and the best thing was the... More

When we first arrived at Tarra-Bulga guest house, the owner Nici was warm and welcoming but understandably a little frazzled, having spent the day dealing with the kind of freak maintainence issues that would have most people tearing out their hair. Despite all this. she'd taken the time to arrange accomodation for us nearby and even prepared dinner for us... More

We stayed for two nights at The Tarra Bulga guest house in the beautiful Tarra-Bulga National Park. Nici is the most delightful and warm owner who gets to know her guests and offers them delicious food while taking special dietary needs in her stride. The rooms are clean, if very basic and in winter the lack of en-suite facilities makes... More

Spent two day here found it to be quiet and peaceful .Rooms were on the small size, but the meals where absolutely brilliant which made up for this. We where made welcome from the owner who went out of her way to make sure we had a wonderful weekend here.

I just spent 2 wonderful nights in Tarra-Bulga Guest House. The Guest House is a simple, older type of accommodation with shared bathroom but it is extremely clean with the most comfortable bed I slept in in ages and the bedding was so clean and crisp. Nici and Steve are wonderful host and a Nici's home cooked diner together with... More

This guesthouse is a few minutes' walk away from a beautiful National Park, where there are lyrebirds, waterfalls, forest tracks, and an informative Visitors' Centre. The park is a piece of temperate rainforest, and some trees are a thousnd years old. Our room at the guesthouse was clean, pleasant and well-heated, and we slept soundly. Facilities are at the end...
