Sorry my perspective here is in contrast to the majority but different views can be helpful when deciding if something matches what you are looking for. I like sites that are relaxed and grown up and find themselves in the Cool Camping book and will continue to be guided by them. I have been camping for over 30 years and... More

Had a brilliant time. Campsite excellent. Clean and modern(the bathroom facilities were the best I've seen at a campsite). The owners are very friendly and helpful. Pitch space large. Fantastic walks close by. Cannot recommend this place enough to anyone.

We really enjoyed our stay at Shallow Grange! We arrived late at night so Marilyn had left us a envelope at reception with the code to get in, a map and other useful information which was lovely. Marilyn & her husband were very friendly and full of advice - the walks from the campsite were beautiful. The pitch size was... More

Love this place ! Great facilities , the cleanliness of the place is outstanding. Couldn't have asked for anything better apart from the shops being quite far away if your not too prepared . Would defiantly recommend to friends and family..

Came here for a out of the blue one night stay. Its a working farm and they have space for numerous caravans and campsites and the owners were very friendly. The camping plots are very spacious and the camping area is large. Despite being almost full it felt like you were almost camping alone. The facilities were clean and modern... More

We arrived for the Easter bank holiday weekend with two other families. This is a smallish, quiet site but the toilet and shower facilities are clean and well maintained. There are lots of lovely walks that take in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. We tried the Church Inn at Chelmorton and the Tikka Villa takeaway who delivered. Both meals were delicious.... More

Lovely little site which is ideally located for exploring the Derbyshire dales. It's on a working farm and overlooks some gorgeous scenery. The shower block is clean and well equipped and the pitch sizes are generous. This is an unashamedly 'quiet' site (no bar, clubhouse etc!) but that doesn't mean you feel you have to sneak about. The owners are... More

Really good find. Small, friendly and quiet campsite. It is in a lovely rural setting although the nearby road is surprisingly noisy even through the night. There are no facilities for children but this really didn't matter as our children and their friends entertained themselves. In fact it was nice not to have to watch them in a playground. The... Lovely setting, beautiful views. Efficiently run and well laid out. Very clean washing facilities. Friendly site owners, not too many site rules to adhere to. Generously sized pitches. Great value for money. Well worth a second visit.

Good camping field with decent sized pitches. Close to footpaths. Good toilet/shower facilities. Quiet apart from the sound of bleeting sheep! Secure entrance. Suitable for adults and children who can entertain themselves.
