Lovely little site which is ideally located for exploring the Derbyshire dales. It's on a working farm and overlooks some gorgeous scenery. The shower block is clean and well equipped and the pitch sizes are generous. This is an unashamedly 'quiet' site (no bar, clubhouse etc!) but that doesn't mean you feel you have to sneak about. The owners are... More

Really good find. Small, friendly and quiet campsite. It is in a lovely rural setting although the nearby road is surprisingly noisy even through the night. There are no facilities for children but this really didn't matter as our children and their friends entertained themselves. In fact it was nice not to have to watch them in a playground. The... Lovely setting, beautiful views. Efficiently run and well laid out. Very clean washing facilities. Friendly site owners, not too many site rules to adhere to. Generously sized pitches. Great value for money. Well worth a second visit.

Good camping field with decent sized pitches. Close to footpaths. Good toilet/shower facilities. Quiet apart from the sound of bleeting sheep! Secure entrance. Suitable for adults and children who can entertain themselves.

Very friendly welcome when we arrived and given very useful information about local facilities. A very traditional feel to the site, based around the working farm. Shower and washing facilities were good. Camping field was lovely with great views. Take a windbreak as you are quite open to the elements.

My first impressions on arriving ere to pitchat the site were that it was very clean and well laid out and well organised. On arrival we were given all relevant information we needed and were told where to pitch our tent as well as being given a map of the site and the camp rules. The owners were very helpful... More

Stayed at shallow Grange campsite recently and was very impressed, lovely clean facilities and nice pitches. Good views from field at back across the peaks and very friendly owners. Would recommend to anyone who likes simple camping pleasures.

If what you want out of a campsite is a good view, clean facilities, hot water and a space to pitch your tent, this place would probably suit you. It's not flash - but it does boast some good environmental credentials - and you do feel that you're staying on working farm (hardly surprising, as that's what it is). The... More

The site is very clean and the owners seemed welcoming on our arrival. Our pitch was in the front field with ehu. The field slopes down and felt very exposed in the night when the wind really picked up. The pitch also seemed narrow compared to others we've stayed on with our guy ropes overlapping with the neighbours and no... More

We have just returned from a Bank Holiday weekend at Shallow Grange camp site. We were warmly welcomed, and given all the information we needed for our stay. We had 2 tent pitches in the main field - we were in the bottom corner near the arrival lane and on a bit of a slope, but were able to pitch... More
