Very friendly welcome when we arrived and given very useful information about local facilities. A very traditional feel to the site, based around the working farm. Shower and washing facilities were good. Camping field was lovely with great views. Take a windbreak as you are quite open to the elements.

My first impressions on arriving ere to pitchat the site were that it was very clean and well laid out and well organised. On arrival we were given all relevant information we needed and were told where to pitch our tent as well as being given a map of the site and the camp rules. The owners were very helpful... More

Stayed at shallow Grange campsite recently and was very impressed, lovely clean facilities and nice pitches. Good views from field at back across the peaks and very friendly owners. Would recommend to anyone who likes simple camping pleasures.

If what you want out of a campsite is a good view, clean facilities, hot water and a space to pitch your tent, this place would probably suit you. It's not flash - but it does boast some good environmental credentials - and you do feel that you're staying on working farm (hardly surprising, as that's what it is). The... More

The site is very clean and the owners seemed welcoming on our arrival. Our pitch was in the front field with ehu. The field slopes down and felt very exposed in the night when the wind really picked up. The pitch also seemed narrow compared to others we've stayed on with our guy ropes overlapping with the neighbours and no... More

We have just returned from a Bank Holiday weekend at Shallow Grange camp site. We were warmly welcomed, and given all the information we needed for our stay. We had 2 tent pitches in the main field - we were in the bottom corner near the arrival lane and on a bit of a slope, but were able to pitch... More

The campsite has been very fairly reviewed below. I would like to add that I just can't get over how clean and well maintained it all was! The field that we camped on had grass better looked after than our lawn at home. My kids played cricket on it! Only stayed 2 nights but thoroughly enjoyed it.

We visited on a school holiday camping trip with family. The owners were really friendly and welcoming and ensured that we had pitches together which was great as often we have found this to be difficult. We were in a back field which was near to the toilet block and had pitches along the wall leaving the rest of the... More

Stayed for a couple of nights at this wonderful little campsite. realy basic in the way of facilities but nice and close to Buxton and it has a little fishing pond. The surroundings are kept nice and neat and the staff are friendly and helpful, watch out for some of the recommendations on places to eat though. Toilet block is... More

We had been planning our camping trip to The Peak District for some time and when we arrived at Shallow Grange for our 4 night stay and we were met with a warm welcome and were certainly not disappointed. The facilities on site are excellent with several mains water points and modern toilet / shower facilities (with plenty of cubicles... More
