On landing from the Car Ferry at Brjanslaekur at 1900 hrs. I called the hotel to tell them I would be arriving around 2000 hrs. and would they kindly have dinner reserved for me. This was confirmed without hesitation, and with a caution not to rush on the gravel road which was rather rough in sections. On arrival I was... More

We stayed here one night and the intention was obviously to visit the Latrabjarg cliffs to see the puffins, which was about a 20 minutes drive on gravel road. The rooms were decent but the breakfast was so-so, especially for the amount we paid. Granted the price was probably a reflection of how remote the place is. Still, we did... More

Had a spacious comfortable room, with good food and excellent hosts. My only reservation was that the rooms were not connected to the dining room, which meant getting wet, going for food, when it was raining, which it was on 2 occasions. Relatively close to the puffins, about a 20 min drive away.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay. Our 2 rooms were clean and comfortable. The larger room nearer to the Fjord had a fantastic view. The owners were very congenial, tactful, and helpful. Karl gave us important information about the bird cliffs and driving (about 25 km) and hiking directions. He suggested we check out the nearby Rauðasandur beach... More

My screensaver is the view from this hotel, quite the most stunning view I have seen. The food is simple but delicious home cooked fare. The hoteliers are warm, genuine and welcoming. Yes, this is basic accommodation but it is clean and the alternatives nearby are very few. If you are visiting the bird cliffs (and you should!) then this... More

We are on a one month Iceland tour, having been here two years ago for two weeks. All our arrangements were made by Nordic Visitor as part of a self drive tour, so, we don't know the specific prices for accommodation. Nordic Visitor, in their tour packages offer three types of accommodation and we booked comfort accommodation (private bathroom, "nice"... More

We spent one night here while travelling around the Westfjords. We were a group od 6 and had 3 rooms booked. The rooms were typical for Icelandic Country Hotels, basic but comfortable and clean. The owners are fantastic people. My wife and I spent quite a bit of time chatting with them and their son. They are very nice people... More

The rooms are decorated like college dorm rooms--two cheap beds and a desk. Nothing else. They have made absolutely no attempt at style in the rooms or in the common space. I'm afraid the rooms even smelled of cleaning fluid a little, which of course increased the dormitory feel. The view is gorgeous. The owner/manager is very nice. I just... More

First some practical information: Driving time from Hotel Latrabjarg to bird cliffs is 45 minutes on gravel road, from the hotel to Raudisandur 1 hour on gravel road. We stayed in one of the double comfort rooms (room no. 16) with private WC and shower at the price of 200 Euro per night. It faces the fjord, Patreksjfördur can be... More

i'm afraid i really can´t recommend this place. yes the owner is nice, but the rooms are smelly and cheap and the place is HUGELY overpriced, even for a way out area in iceland with little competition. we were charged 140 euro for the room, and then a whopping 43 euro pp set menu of tomato soup, a bit of...
