The first thing that should be noted is that while this place is set in a beautifully location it is very remote so those traveling without guides and drivers (like we were) may want to consider an alternative. It is a good hour and half taxi journey from Kanchuburi (80km). This journey will set you back around 1000 baht and... More

We just returned from a two day trip at the River Kwai Resote, l While planning our two week trip to Thailand, we found out about this place by accident. We decided to check it out because it looked so beautiful. The hotel arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport in Bangkok. It was about a... More

The River Kwai Resotel is a very peaceful stay. You take a boat to get to and from the resotel so your options are really limited to what you can do. The excursions through the resotel are of course, very expensive. The Tiger Temple was ~$150/person through the resotel. We got a taxi and went on our own for ~$45/person.... More

This was the 3rd leg of our honeymoon and was set in a stunning location. We were treated like royalty with our own private tour Gide who looked after us day and night booboo his name was :-) all meals were included and were delicious and they constantly were checking if we were ok or if we wanted anything else.... 1. the only good point of this resort is the location. 2. the room was smelly and extremely public !!!!!!!!! 3. the resort should offer a bamboo rafting for free like the other resort... ( not a value destination resort )

Dear Pavaht T, Thank you for your recent stay at River Kwai Resotel. First of all, thank you for your compliment to our resort location. However, we are quite puzzled about some of your comments like ‘extremely public’. We understand that you are referring to the location of your room. However, from our investigation, your private chalet was located away... More

I had visited this floatel some months back and it was just an unforgettable experience. It is quite far from Kanchanburi but it is all worth finding it. I was taken to the floatel from long tail boat. Upon my arrival they served me welcome drink and showed my room. I had booked room facing the river and picturesque was... More

This was a last minute, poorly-researched booking.. but one that I was SO happy to have stumbled upon. The boat ride up to the hotel is a great way to start, very convenient, minimal wait. Super-friendly and helpful staff, great food, clean and nicely decorated, private cabins. Close to a number of interesting venues like the Tiger Temple and Hellfire... More

A good place to stay in Kanchanabury. A vast and beautiful property. A green area with trees, bushes, grass and many watering places. A lot of paths allow having a walk to enjoy nature. River Kwai Resotel Resort is situated in a peaceful and relaxing area but allows to do a lot of activities. You can even enjoy your free... More

This is a good value location at Khanchanburi , right on a tributary of the River Kwai. Would be good for children. It seems to be a bit of a centre so all activities are easily accessed. There is s a lot of boat trips involved so if you are unsteady around boats, be aware. We had an isolated villa... More
