We recently visited the River Kwai Village Hotel as part of ANZAC Day at Hell Fire Pass and Kananchaburi Cemetery. Thank god that AustCham were our hosts and did an outstanding job in organising things. They unfortunately have the odds against them with the River Kwai Village Hotel. We found the location and room setting (River Wing) to be absolutely... More

Stayed here for Anzac Day 2014 with a group from Bangkok. The resort grounds are beautiful and rooms ok. But the buffet food has to be amongst the worst in Thailand and the tacky bar just unbearably noisy. As a result had two nights of very poor and limited sleep.

Spent 3 nights here in one of the raft rooms which was very special. Sitting on the raft porch at night with the sound of the river flowing past is an experience I won't forget in a hurry. Staff were all friendly and courteous and service in the restaurant and room was quick. The food was OK, we ordered A'la... More

this is an old review, but i cant forget this peaceful peace of thailand. At the time there were no boring guests, just a nice room facing a beautiful silent river :we arrived here with a taxi directly from Bangkok!we did enjoy the swimming pool and especially the powerful silence by the river: Chris Martin voice(God put a smile upon your face)... We stayed here for 1 night on a tour of Thailand. Nice bedroom but bathroom was a bit dated. Had buffet evening meal which tasted OK but the food was cold. Nice breakfast though try the Thai pancakes they are lovely.

I was on a group tour so I didn't have any choice in selecting the hotels, but I must say that the River Kwai Village lived up to what most other reviewers had to say. We had a river raft room, which was delightful in terms of the location and was well-appointed, except for the air conditioning (which didn't respond... More

We recently did a tour round Thailand and this was one of the Hotels we stayed in. The setting is stunning and first impressions it looks amazing, however when we were shown to our room we were not impressed. It was dirty, the doors didnt close properly, there was a huge gap in the outside door so bugs were just... More

This used to be bigger with a mini zoo and other small attractions. Very big resort now quiet apart from Russian guests in the pool and the corridors. 2 or 3 very big pools. Ours had a slider and the kids loved it. The rooms looks old but are very clean. We are in the middle of the jungle and... More

This is one of my favorite place in Kanchanaburi. I've been travel around this province a lot and I've staying in many hotels there. This one is the best. Nice rooms beside swimming pool, good rooms in the main building and amazing bungalows on the rafts. I like raft-room the most. It's huge and well decorated. Polite and friendly staff.... More
