My wife and I and two friends stayed at the River Kwai Village Hotel where our base was for a two night stay which included a visit to the Hellfire Pass, World War 2 museum at Kanchanaburi, the famous river Kwai bridge, and elephant ride and a visit to another world war 2 cemetary at Chungkai and ride on the train... Terrible. No pickup service not convenient for travellers by train or bus. The hotel is focused at rusians. We got greated in rusian and the music is rusian. The hotel is very old and the swimming pool tiles are all loose. I thunk ut used to be a beautiful hotel but they didnt renew things.

I've stayed here many times over the last 15-20 years and it's slowly got worse over the years. It location is great but it only seems to be interested in the large tour groups now and ever thing is done around them but the rooms are large and clean. Breakfast was ok but doubt I'll return as there are better... More

We recently visited the River Kwai Village Hotel as part of ANZAC Day at Hell Fire Pass and Kananchaburi Cemetery. Thank god that AustCham were our hosts and did an outstanding job in organising things. They unfortunately have the odds against them with the River Kwai Village Hotel. We found the location and room setting (River Wing) to be absolutely... More

Stayed here for Anzac Day 2014 with a group from Bangkok. The resort grounds are beautiful and rooms ok. But the buffet food has to be amongst the worst in Thailand and the tacky bar just unbearably noisy. As a result had two nights of very poor and limited sleep.

Spent 3 nights here in one of the raft rooms which was very special. Sitting on the raft porch at night with the sound of the river flowing past is an experience I won't forget in a hurry. Staff were all friendly and courteous and service in the restaurant and room was quick. The food was OK, we ordered A'la... More

this is an old review, but i cant forget this peaceful peace of thailand. At the time there were no boring guests, just a nice room facing a beautiful silent river :we arrived here with a taxi directly from Bangkok!we did enjoy the swimming pool and especially the powerful silence by the river: Chris Martin voice(God put a smile upon your face)... We stayed here for 1 night on a tour of Thailand. Nice bedroom but bathroom was a bit dated. Had buffet evening meal which tasted OK but the food was cold. Nice breakfast though try the Thai pancakes they are lovely.

I was on a group tour so I didn't have any choice in selecting the hotels, but I must say that the River Kwai Village lived up to what most other reviewers had to say. We had a river raft room, which was delightful in terms of the location and was well-appointed, except for the air conditioning (which didn't respond... More
