If there is a better bed & breakfast than this anywhere, please let me know. It is in my view & from what i have read of other reviews, many people agree, the best that there is. Jayne the owner is a lovey host & makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The rooms are warm & comfortable... More

We stayed for 4 nights recently and had 3 rooms. We all loved the character of each of the rooms, two overlooked the canal and we were more than delighted with all of the rooms. There are many great little touches such as the paper in the reception area, biscuits in the room, mini fridge in most rooms, excellent towels... More

Stayed one night 26th April 2014 as a solo traveller. Purpose of my visit was an assessment / interview at NWAS Headquarters 4 miles away at 0900hrs the following morning. I requested a quiet room to facilitate an early night and sound sleep for an early start the following morning. I was allocated Room 4 overlooking the Lancaster Canal to... More

We found this hotel on the internet as we wanted a last minute night away. Location is excellent not too far from the M6 and the room was very spacious and comfortable. There is a decent pub across the road also. Bed was very comfortable, plenty or space in the room and had a chiller with soft drinks which was... More

We found this place on the internet, and it was ideal for all our needs. It is near so many interesting places, and right near two pubs, and the canal. The breakfasts were good, and the rooms cosy and welcoming. It is right on the A6, so very convenient, and very near the motorways, Lancaster, Garstang, Blackpool, Calder Fell and... More

Wonderful stay. Friendly and flexible service. Rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. Although the b&b is located adjacent to the road the double glazed windows mean there is no disturbance to sleep. It's ideally located for local pubs, walks and the canal.

I selected the Olde Dunscombe House for an overnight stay on my fifth night during my cycle ride from Lands End to John O' Groats because of its convenient location on the A6 North of Preston. As it is located directly at the side of a canal extensively used by pleasure craft its location is very pleasant despite fronting a... More

A perfect resting place during a busy stay in the UK. Comfy beds wonderful breakfast from full English to yoghurt and green tea. Jayne the owner was so friendly and accommodating we couldn't have wished for more. Wifi access was also a great bonus we weren't expecting. Even though situated on the edge of the A6,we were not affected by... More
