Stayed at The Old Fishing Station this January for 4 nights. First time there but been to this Beautiful area, St Cyrus many times in the past years. I cannot rate the accommodation or welcome less than fantastic. Our room was spacious, warm and immaculate. A lovely try of coffee tea, drinking chocolate and biscuits. Our hosts friendly and just... We stayed here on our honeymoon with my husband for one night. We were able to book just a few days before, and were very pleased with our stay. The room on the ground floor was clean, well presented with a modern bathroom. We were greeted with a warm welcome, Our host was very informative about the local area, and... More

Friendly reception, comfortable accommodation and excellent breakfast. Close location to the North and South Esks made it an ideal location for angling purposes. Had I been staying longer I would have enjoyed exploring the nature reserve and beach. I would definitely use this again.

My wife and I were riding the excellent Sustrans 'Coast and Castles North' route, between Edinburgh and Aberdeen and needed somewhere to stay after the second days cycling. St Cyrus looked perfect. We rolled into The Old Fishing Station after a long and tiring day on the bikes and were met with warm smiles and friendly faces - the couple... More

Re-visiting after two much-enjoyed trips in 2000 & 2001--facilities enhanced. Scottish hosts very welcoming and informative, with background in land management, tennis-coaching!--and rapport with nature. Suggest upstairs room for view over dunes to sea. Outside-stair adds to sense of difference. Binoculars supplied for viewing Nature Reserve just over the fence! Excellent cooking, and home-baking, including gluten-free oatcakes, ditto biscuits, and... More

A little way off the beaten track but great for sea air, beach and lovely walks. We stayed three nights for our second visit here. It's a quiet comfortable gem of a place run by a lovely couple. Will definitely be back!

The Old Fishing station is everything a b&b should be. The en-suite rooms are compact but have everything one could ask for. The beach which is within the nature reserve is a 2 minute walk away. Elaine helped us make tee reservations at the beautiful Montrose golf course which is just 10 minutes away. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and... More

Stayed here with my brother as part of the C&C North trip. Lovely place, fantastic and welcoming owners. Very welcoming and friendly. Recommend the long walk up the stone steps to St Cyrus - not many beach walks compare. Couldn't recommend higher.

Was a little skeptical about what to experience at the B & B. Clean and well laid out environment. Friendly and helpful hosts. Brilliant environment and clean and scarcely populated beach within 5 minutes walk. Will definitely stay there again. Summary: Not a 5 star hotel, but a friendly "home" for a time out at the beach, away from the... More
