I wanted to stay somewhere for my birthday that was out of town, surrounded by lovely countryside yet wasn't a huge drive to get there. I found Shibden Mill Inn, had a good look at their website and thought "This is the place for me!" We booked over the phone and, on arrival, were taken to our room while being... More

This an excellent inn. It is ideally situated if you want to see people or places in Halifax, Leeds or Bradford. It is however rather isolated so it is worthwhile booking dinner, bed and breakfast. Although the service was good and the cooking OK there is an issue with the restaurant. We stayed three nights and the menu did not... More

stayed on 12/7/14 with my wife, just for a treat.after a quick, friendly check in we were shown to our room (6).the room was clean, comfortable and adequate, though the windows were small and high level leaving the room a touch stuffy.down in the beer garden we drank some excellent 'withens ale' at a reasonable £3.30 a pint, followed by bar snacks, again reasonable and tasty.... I've stayed here before on business, and also eaten here when I subsequently moved to the area. Having not been for a few years I'd forgotten just how good it was. The location is superb, close to Halifax, Bradford, the Yorkshire Moors, but in a quiet valley where you'd think that you're on a desert island so idyllic is it.... More

My husband and I live local to this hotel and decided to take advantage of it's proximity to home and town and stay for the night. We met with friends and ate in the restaurant. The quality of the food was excellent overall. The wine list was extensive, full of quality wines :0) The room we had was room 12.... More

I stayed at Shibden Mill during a business trip to Bradford when the hotel where I usually stay was fully booked. What a pleasant surprise, I should have come here earlier. The hotel has very comfortable rooms, a very personal touch, very friendly and competent staff and one of the best breakfasts I ever had on a business trip. The... More

Travelled from Soithampton to meet up with friends for 2 nights. What a find! Lovely room with a patio, great for a cup of tea as the weather was nice when we arrived. Food in the resturant was excellent. Breakfast was first class with excellent porridge. Would certainly make the effort to visit again.

The view en route is lovely and the 17th century building quaint and historic. Overall, this could be 4 star with a few improvements for customer comfort. Good things are: the location, large TV in room, quirky smellies in bathroom with handy things e.g. a sewing kit, a proper lock for your door with big keyring (handy when rummaging in... More

Stayed here a few times and booked for a special birthday weekend. Such a lovely peaceful spot by the river in the valley. Relaxing, lovely room overlooking the river and open countryside. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Great atmosphere in the bar and breakfast is wonderful! Anything you desire! So friendly and relaxing and the food in the restaurant is... More
