In case it bothers you, be aware that each night many people smoked drugs (although a sign was posted saying that people should not do that). Each night many people got drunk and talked into the night. Bring earplugs if you're sleeping in the main area and you would like to get to sleep before 2am. The markup for using... More

Hi, Sorry you were disappointed during your time at Casa Loma. We charge 10% credit card fee on cards due to high bank and tax charges. We prefer to accept cash but we offer the service of accepting cards with the service charge. Please bring cash if you wish to pay less. Drugs are prohibited in the hostel. We have... More

Amazing views, friendly staff, delicious food and a great atmosphere in the hostel, really conducive to chatting and chilling. Would have loved to have stayed more than our 2 nights. Would recommend to anyone (it's worth the hard trek uphill!)

Casa Loma is basically just dreamy all round. Yes you have to climb up quite a few stairs to reach it but the view from the top is so amazing it's worth it (and means you get to watch beautiful sunsets every single night!) It feels like living in a beautiful treehouse, lots of hammocks and chill out areas so... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night, I wish we'd had longer! We arrived on a very hot day, there's a bit of a hike up to the top of the hill but once you reach the top all is forgiven! The hostel itself is a giant tree house will a few dorms, hammocks and private rooms located... More

So there were four of us staying in Minca. We didn't have reservations ahead of time but when we arrived they were able to put two of us in hammocks and two in cabins which worked out. After viewing the campsite we really enjoyed it and wanted to book an additional night. We requested four hammocks next to each other... More

Hi, Thanks for coming to Casa Loma. We are glad you enjoyed the amazing views but sorry you found the place un organised. With the mix up with the reservation this is understandable. Having investigated this it seems there was a communication mix up perhaps due to language and it was not clear you were coming back the next day... More

Que maravilloso lugar para desconectarse del mundo! Vas a estar muy en contacto con la naturaleza y los servicios son cómodos y la comida sana y rica. La subida por las escaleras es algo desafiante pero la impresionante vista lo vale! What a wonderful place to disconnect yourself from the planet! You'll be in touch with nature, the facilities are... More

Pros: -Easy to find: the website even has immaculate step by step directions on its website all the way from the Santa Marta airport. -Stunning views -Cheap (50mil pesos for 2 nights in a hammock- just over $20 USD -No internet/wifi- helps with the hippie/outdoorsy vibe -Everyone there had to put in the effort to get there, so it's a... OK, first thing: Yes, you have to walk up a steep hill with a lot of steps to reach Casa Loma. You will probably being gasping and sweating when you get up there, but, hey, just turn around and look at the view you just earned. It only takes, maybe, ten minutes and just go slow if you're a little... More

It takes a serious effort to get here, it's no fun to climb up the endless stairs with a backpack on the back and front in the vaporizing heat. I límited this climb to 1 time a day. However, the place is cool. Imagine some hippie fairytale-forest without wifi & hot showers, with campfires, guitar and djembe music and staff... More
