We stayed at Casa Loma for 3 nights. The first 2 nights we had the mirador double room which was neat, clean and very nice. The last night we slept in hammocks which were also good, with lockers for each guest. One downfall about the hammock area (the one close to the common area) that it is right next to... More

I went to Minca looking for a break a that's exactly what I found, especially at Casa Loma Minca. Though it can be difficult to get there (you have to hike about 200 steps), it's worth it because you will be in one of the highest place of town so you'll have one of the best views, fresh air during... What a place! As I said, a jungle gem. Owned and run by the effervescent Jay and Annie, who know what a traveller wants and needs. I had a memorable stay, indulging in the great views, food and company. Back home, I simply miss it and the laughs we had. It's a short trip from the bright lights of Santa... More

So relaxing could live there year round! We arrived in minca in the dead of night with a driver who didn't know where to go, the friendly people of the town directed us to a dirt road. Unsure at first by the half lit trail we followed the signs up the moutian packs and all. Be warned it is a... More

I needed a break from the heat of the Caribbean so headed for Minca and Casa Loma. The food is really good as are the communal dinners (without WiFi) that provides for a great opportunity to share travel stories and make new friends. I thought that the accommodation itself along with shower facilities was overpriced for what was provided if... More

After you have climbed the hill with your big backpack for five to ten minutes (bring flashlight when arriving at night), you maybe searching for your breath (it is steep!) you turn around and will be amazed by the breathtaking view! (And staff will offer you a glass of cold water immediately! Which is very thoughtful and makes you feel... More

There are many things to love about Casa Loma; the breathtaking views, the awesome dogs that you can take for walks, the relaxed vibes of lying in hammocks or playing cards, and my favourite, the incredible food. There really is little reason to leave the hostel, especially with the treacherous stairs to the entrance, and if it weren't for some... More

This hostel has a warm welcome. You need to walk a steep hill but they are waiting for you with a glass of water. They are very helpful and can help you with planning what to do during the day. The hammocks are simple with a mosquitonet, but some are with holes so you have to check yours. It is... More

We spent a really nice night at Casa Loma. Our room was the Tree House, which was comfortable and it felt like you were in the trees when lying in bed looking out the windows. It is decent walk up to the house, but definitely well worth it, the view and the people are great. One of the best things... More

Casa Loma is a really wonderful Place to stay. I could not recommend it enough! Unfortunately we only had 1 night in Minca, and we were really sad we could not stay longer as it was a lovely spot and there are many things to do in Minca. Casa Lola is literally a huge tree house built high up above... More
