I met Jay in Popanyan Colombia en he gave me his card for Casa Loma. I was curious and after a not so good stay in Casa De Elemento I felt realy happy to be in Casa Loma. What i liked the most is that i felt realy close to nature. The staff was super friendly and offerd me directly... More

It takes a serious effort to get here, it's no fun to climb up the endless stairs with a backpack on the back and front in the vaporizing heat. I límited this climb to 1 time a day. However, the place is cool. Imagine some hippie fairytale-forest without wifi & hot showers, with campfires, guitar and djembe music and staff... More

I never judge any place in saying it was good or bad, cheap or expensive. The value counts. And the main reason I joined Tripadvisor was when I read all the fantastic reviews of Casa Loma. I just don't get it. The other reason is their web-page, for me it's not only exaggerating... it is lying into your guests faces,... More

We stayed in El Mirador private room. Great views from the private balcony and the hostel grounds. Fabulous sunset. Great vegetarian cooking. One of our tastiest meals in Colombia. Breakfast is also very good and different (you need to pay for breakfast) No guest kitchen. Noise and chatter carries through the hostel though so if people are downstairs having early... More

I spent a night at Casa Lola in a single room. The room was basic but clean. The reason for the 5 starts are friendly staff, great views, good breakfast and relaxing vibe there. The sunset that night was amazing and worth the walk up.

To get to this hostel, you have to go up the hill for about 15 minutes, but when you get to the top and catch your breath, the view will make it worth it! We got the El Mirador room, which is the "Presidential Room" of the place. A double bed room, with a little lounge terrasse which gives the... More

We loved this hostel, it has a great design and amazing views. There is a steep climb to the top which can be tiring especially in the heat, however this is not much of a downside as once you get up there it is well worth it. We stayed in a tent with amazing views of the mountains. It has... More

After climbing up the hill 10 sweatful minutes we we're really disappointed: the tree house was worse than the one my 15-year old neighbor built, very basic and rather expensive (70.000) for what you get. No privacy because 5 people are sleeping in hammocks just centimeters beneath you. The views are great and the staff nice, though. To sum it... More

We stayed at Casa Loma for 3 nights. The first 2 nights we had the mirador double room which was neat, clean and very nice. The last night we slept in hammocks which were also good, with lockers for each guest. One downfall about the hammock area (the one close to the common area) that it is right next to... More

I went to Minca looking for a break a that's exactly what I found, especially at Casa Loma Minca. Though it can be difficult to get there (you have to hike about 200 steps), it's worth it because you will be in one of the highest place of town so you'll have one of the best views, fresh air during...
