We absolutely loved our stay here. The rooms were gorgeous, decorated in a way that gives a country feel while at the same time obviously top quality with both the furnishings and the decor. (Loved the heated towel rack as it was a bit cooler when we were there.). Fran and Ian were both fantastic and it was like staying... More

We really enjoyed staying at Waipoua Lodge. It’s not only the beautiful country, it’s also places like yours and such nice hosts that made our NZ-journey to something very special. An excellent host !!

You have the giant kauri's in Waipoua Forest, you have the Kauri Museum in Matakohe and in between there is Waipoua Lodge: a guest house since many years, now owned and operated by Ian and Fran, who really make a wonderful job out of it: good cooking, beautiful housing and great hospitality. English is not our mother tongue so maybe... More

Waipoua Lodge, near the Kauri Forest in New Zealand was a wonderful retreat. The accommodations were so comfortable, with beautiful views and great hospitality. Our hosts had knowledge of the area and could direct us to the best sites. The food also was terrific. I could easily have stayed longer.

We spent 2 wonderful weeks in New Zealand and the Waipoua Lodge was the best experience by far. The food is world class and exceeded only by the hospitality of Fran and Ian. There is so much history associated with the Lodge and the surrounding area and Fran and Ian meld the history with modern conveniences and experiences so well.... More

although a little remote this lovely B&B is well worth the visit with great attention given to detail. The food is must and hosts are very helpful with tips and local advice. Fran also runs a cookery course and you can see fro meh quality of her food
