My wife and I visited this hotel / Inn about a month ago, suffice to say I have still thought it good enough to pass comment! What a wonderful experience we had. The room was very adequate, it was very clean, well presented and had everything that was required. The service from start to finish was second to none and... More

I stayed at the oak tree previously and was so impressed I thought for a treat I would return, unfortunately from the young lad who greeted us and showed us up to the room which was incredibly dirty around the bath, the food was overpriced and portion sizes were tiny, to breakfast which took 45 to be served in an... Our second stay here and this time for 3 nights. Ideal location for York and Harrogate as well as several local villages. The rooms are all lovely especially those with superking size beds. Breakfast and evening meals are excellent and the managers and staff are always very friendly and helpfull. Looking forward to a return visit.

This pub has been transformed by a hotel chain and on the sunny day we visited it was in an ideal setting for a reunion lunch, midway between Wetherby and Stokesley. Sadly the lunch was not up to our expectations as the special fish pie was very ordinary with little flavour. Also they served one of us, with much apologies,... More

Went last night for the first, and last, time. I had "Norwegian Cod" with lentil and bacon stew, which was supposed to come with "all the usual accompaniments". All I got was a piece of fish in a bowl of lentils, nothing else - no potatoes or any other starch and no veg. Very poor. My wife had what was... More

This is the third time we have stayed here and we still really love it. We have had a different room each time and each one has been lovely with a nice bathroom. The food here is delicious and worth every penny, and we will continue to visit here for years to come. Highly reccomend for a quiet getaway or... More

My boyfriend surprised me with a stay here and 5 course meal for valentines day. The hotel staff were brilliant and couldn't help us enough. The room was gorgeous and everything you could ask for. The meal was delicious and we would definitely stay here again. The only hiccup we had was that after using the jacuzzi bath (which was... More

We came with a group of friends to the Burns Night celebration and stayed over, and although it was a bit light as an actual Burns Night the food was great and the atmosphere was buzzing. The rooms were very comfortable with lovely touches - fresh coffee and real milk, for starters and really good bathrooms/showers as well as comfy... More
