Just had a splendid weekend at 'The Morritt' hotel and Garage Spa with my wife, to celebrate a special birthday. All in all, the food, staff, service, accommodation and spa was 'excellent'! Our evening meal was out of this world with Sunday lunch being equally as delicious! The staff are very friendly and really make you feel relaxed and like... More

We had a party not far from this hotel so me and my fiancée decided instead of staying in a travel lodge we would treat ourselves and stay here. The hotel is set in a beautiful location and a beautiful building.... But that is the only positive. I only booked this hotel as the spa looked beautiful and we were... More

We have stayed at The Morrit a few times and eaten in both the bar and the restaurant. I have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. On this visit, on arrival, we were told (after booking a table in advance) that the restaurant was closed this evening but we'd be able eat in the bar. I was really disappointed... More

Dropped in here for a snack lunch as it is somewhere we have been in the past. Still has the same wonderful murals on the walls and old fashioned atmosphere. it is just the same which is quite reassuring these days. Enjoyed a small course from a large choice which is just what we wanted. Great.

Our first visit to the Morritt Arms was a certainly a great success. We opted to be seated in the Dickens Bar area of this large, period hotel/spa,with its quirky wall mural furniture full of character. Two roast beef dinners arrived piping hot and full of flavour with all the usual trimmings, and a jug of extra gravy, which is a great idea,... More

I ended up staying here after my girlfriend received £200 worth of gift vouchers for a birthday present so didn't actually look in to the place before booking. Having booked a Spa and hotel package totalling over £400 for me and my girlfriend, I decided it was probably best not to look on trip advisor as I wanted to go... More

Called in quickly for a morning coffee with my elderly grandparents, only to be told at reception that I would need to return to the desk to place my order - not the level or quality of service expected from a country hotel which seems to pride itself on service! The hotel was quiet and staff did not seem busy.... More

We went for afternoon tea with extended family - 20 in all. Morritt hotel accommodated us easily. In the bar (mid afternoon, not a regular meal time) , the younger generation were delighted with a selection of sandwiches and ciabattas, some exotic and some old faithful. In the tea room, cakes were served on three tier plates - all delicious... More

We visited on 22nd December, stayed in the main hotel which is very quaint and in a lovely rural setting. The Garage Spa is a wonderful break from the normal spas that you see in larger hotels, this is very quirky with a fabulous outside area. Dinner, was the highlight for me the food is certainly 2 rosette standard with... More

Such a nice word “quaint” – with a place like The Morritt it is always difficult to make improvements. More

We stayed at the Morritt for a friends wedding and the quirkiness of the hotel started as I tried to book a room. We had been informed on the invite anyone staying as part of the wedding party would receive a 10% discount but on phoning the Morritt to book, we were told 'this was only for the first 10... More

Many thanks for your review. Yes after a break the heating is scheduled to come back on at 2.30pm as check in is usually 3pm – if people are able to check in early this can be a challenge – you should have been offered a small radiator to tide you over – sorry. We made an incorrect assumption on... More
