We stayed for 3 nights for a 1st, experimental, mini break after illness which has severely limited my husband's mobility. The hotel owner was very helpful and considerate in an unobtrusive way, so we soon relaxed. The accommodation, food and setting were all excellent, and the sun shone every day -- so we were very pleased we'd made the effort... More

Situated in a lovely, quiet little village a mile from Keswick with pub offering some local ales just meters away. Can start & finish walk round Derwent Water from here. Room was clean, warm & inviting with comfortable bed and power shower plus tea/coffee making facilities. Full English was quality, hot & plentiful. Host Andrew is friendly, welcoming, helpful &... My girlfriend and I recently stayed in this B&B and loved it!! The B&B is situated in a breathtakingly beautiful area surrounded by fells and mountains, We stayed in room 2 which has a wonderful view of Skiddaw. The room was very clean and tidy with a very powerful shower, including L'occitane shampoo and condition which my girlfriend loves .The... More

My husband and I with our teenage son stayed here for two nights at half-term in a double and a single room respectively. It was a very pleasant stay in good quality rooms with a nicely cooked breakfast. The location was very convenient for walking or driving into Keswick (take a torch if you are walking in the dark; we... More

Stayed a couple of nights in mid November with my partner(romantic weekend), could quite easily have stayed longer. Lovely welcome on arrival, rooms were very well decorated and equipped. Excellent breakfast, one of the best I've had in the Lake district. Great relaxing walk to Keswick (about a mile) for a wide choice of bars and restaurants but you needn't... More

A really comfortable, welcoming guest house. Very quiet. Well maintained. Rooms were excellent and well equipped. Breakfast was very good with a nice choice of food. Only a short walk from Keswick. Two minutes from the nearest pub which sold nice food. Would stay again.

Can't fault this B & B in a beautiful house, ideal for exploring the Lakes in a quiet but accessible location near Keswick. Friendly, helpful owners, comfortable room with lovely view and really excellent breakfast. Also we had a great evening meal at 'The Chalet' nearby. You won't regret booking a room here.

Stayed here at the beginning of October for a couple of nights. A friendly welcome greeted us after which we were shown to our room which was on the ground floor. Very tastefully decorated, a modern room with a large bed, modern furniture, tea and coffee facilities with a normal sized kettle, flat screen TV, radio alarm clock and a... More

I hesitate to want to tell the world about Powe House just in case it becomes SO popular that we can never get ourselves booked in again. We've been coming back to this charming B&B in Portinscale, about a mile or so's walk from Keswick town centre for several years now, and have never been disappointed. The house has been... More

What a fabulous time we have had at the beautiful Powe House. Absolutely superb accommodation in a wonderful part of the Lake District. The reason for our visit was to celebrate a 50th birthday. Andrew and Helen were unaware of this but, after having seen the birthday cards whilst servicing the room, decided to leave a bottle of wine for... More
